Candy Fumez Feminized at a glance: Candy Fumez is a near 55/45 hybrid of Zkittlez and Sherbanger #22 that flowers in 8 to 9 weeks, tests 22% to 29% THC and yields 500 to 600 g/m² of frosty, purple-flecked buds tasting of fruit chews, sherbet and fuel.
Both parents and the child, on one Vancouver shelf
Candy Fumez is easier to understand when you can grow its family side by side, and in our seed bank you can: Zkittlez and Sherbanger sit on the same Vancouver shelf as Candy Fumez itself. That means a single domestic order, packed in plain packaging, shipped from BC and delivered in 3 to 7 business days, with no border crossing for any of the three. Every pack carries our 80% germination guarantee, and buy one get one free on 10 and 25 seed packs makes a family comparison inexpensive.
Where Candy Fumez comes from
Candy Fumez strain was made by crossing Zkittlez with Sherbanger #22, a selected cut of the Sunset Sherbet and Headbanger hybrid. Zkittlez brought the fruit-candy terpenes it is famous for, the tropical, berry and citrus sweetness that reads like a bag of chewy candy. Sherbanger brought two things: creamy sherbet depth from Sunset Sherbet and a sharp diesel edge from Headbanger, a Sour Diesel descendant. The result appeared in East Coast American markets around 2020 and spread quickly once people smelled it.
The “fumez” part is about that diesel edge. Properly cured buds give off a fuel note strong enough to be called fumes, sitting right under the candy. The plant itself is a genuine hybrid, leaning very slightly indica, with medium height, decent branching and a reputation for being less fussy than most strains carrying this much terpene content.
Candy Fumez strain effects and experience
Candy Fumez opens with a quick, cheerful head change: a lighter mood, sharper focus and a tendency to find small things funny. That phase lasts about an hour and is the reason many reviewers describe it as a strain for conversation, cooking or gaming. As it settles, a warm, even body calm spreads in without dragging you down, so it works in the late afternoon and early evening alike.
THC usually lands between 22% and 29%, so this is not a beginner’s dose at full strength. The balanced profile helps, but a couple of small puffs is plenty to judge it.
Candy Fumez flavour, aroma and appearance
The terpene mix varies a little between phenotypes. Some plants lead with limonene and caryophyllene, giving sweet citrus over pepper; others carry noticeable terpinolene, which adds a bright, piney, almost fruit-punch lift. Either way the order of flavours is similar: fruit chews and powdered candy on the inhale, creamy sherbet in the middle, then a clean gas finish that lingers on the tongue.
Buds are medium sized, conical and dense without being rock hard. They frost over heavily from week five, and many plants pick up lavender and purple flecks when night temperatures fall below about 16 degrees late in bloom. Pistils are pale orange and sit low against the calyxes, so the trichomes dominate the look.
Growing Candy Fumez in Canada
Indoors
Candy Fumez is an agreeable plant. It stretches 1.5 to 2 times after the switch to 12/12, so a three to four week veg in a standard 150 to 180 cm tent is enough. It takes moderate feeding and handles a beginner’s mistakes with pH or watering better than its Zkittlez parent, which can sulk. Keep days at 22 to 27 degrees, humidity near 55% in early bloom and 40% to 45% from week six. Bloom runs 56 to 63 days. A carbon filter is not optional; the fuel side is louder than the candy name suggests.
Outdoors, by region
An 8 to 9 week bloom fits most of Canada. In coastal and southern BC, southern Ontario and the St. Lawrence valley, plant out in late May and harvest in the last week of September or the first days of October. In Quebec’s Eastern Townships and across Nova Scotia and New Brunswick, choose a south-facing spot sheltered from the wind and plan on the first week of October. Prairie growers should start seeds indoors in the first half of April, harden plants off in mid May and put them out in late May; they usually finish around the end of September. Keep a frost blanket within reach for the cold snaps that can arrive in late September in Saskatchewan and Alberta.
Height and training
Top once at the fourth or fifth node and tie the branches outward. The plant naturally forms a broad bush with six to ten main colas, so a single trellis net is usually all the support it needs. Remove the small lower growth at the flip and again around day 21; it improves airflow and pushes energy into the tops.
Flowering and harvest cues
Pistils turn and recede from week seven. Harvest when the trichomes are mostly cloudy with 5% to 10% amber, normally between day 58 and day 63, for the best mix of candy flavour and balanced effect. Dry slowly for 10 to 14 days at 60% humidity. The gas note is muted on a fresh dry and comes forward after about two weeks in the jar.
Candy Fumez yield indoors and outdoors
Indoors, 500 to 600 g/m² is a realistic target for a topped, netted canopy under a good LED, which is generous for a candy strain. Outdoors, a full-season plant in coastal BC or southern Ontario returns 600 to 800 g dried, and a Prairie plant started in April still gives 400 to 550 g in a shorter season. The dense, resinous buds also wash and press well, so the trim is worth saving for hash.
Who Candy Fumez is for, and who should pick something else
Grow Candy Fumez if you love the Zkittlez flavour but want more weight and a little gas, if you need a balanced strain that suits afternoon or evening, or if you garden outdoors in a region where an early October finish is the limit. Candy Fumez seeds are also a sensible step up for anyone who has grown Zkittlez and wants more weight from the same space.
Pick something else if odour is a serious problem where you live, or if you want pure fruit with no fuel at all. For maximum sweetness on a smaller plant, the candy-forward Runtz family is the gentler route.
How Candy Fumez compares
Zkittlez, the candy parent, is sweeter, more relaxing and a lighter yielder. Sherbanger, the gas parent, is creamier and a little livelier, with more Sour Diesel on the nose. Candy Runtz is all sugar and no fumes, and Sunset Sherbet is the grandparent that gave the creamy middle note. Among our hybrid feminized seeds, Candy Fumez is the best balance of flavour and yield in an 8 to 9 week bloom, and our best outdoor seeds for Canada guide explains how to plan a late September finish.
Frequently asked questions about Candy Fumez
What is Candy Fumez strain a cross of?
Candy Fumez is Zkittlez crossed with Sherbanger #22. Zkittlez gives the fruit candy flavour, and Sherbanger, itself Sunset Sherbet x Headbanger, adds the creamy sherbet note and the diesel fumes that inspired the name.
Is Candy Fumez indica or sativa?
Candy Fumez is a balanced hybrid with a slight indica lean, around 55% indica and 45% sativa. It starts with an upbeat, focused head lift and then settles into a calm body feel that stops short of sedation.
What does Candy Fumez smell like?
Candy Fumez smells like fruit chews and powdered candy sitting on top of diesel fuel. Some phenotypes add a bright pine and fruit-punch note from terpinolene. The gas comes forward after a two week cure.
How long does Candy Fumez take to flower?
Candy Fumez flowers in 8 to 9 weeks, usually 56 to 63 days after the switch to 12/12. Outdoors in most of Canada that means a harvest between the last week of September and the first week of October.
