MAC reacts poorly to stress: keep temperatures steady at 22 to 26 degrees, avoid placing the light too close, and increase nutrients slowly, because it shows burn quickly. Low stress is especially important in the first three weeks of flower. Flowering takes 63 to 70 days.

Outdoors, by region

MAC is mainly an indoor strain in Canada. Outdoors it needs a long, warm, dry season to finish in early to mid October, so the realistic regions are the southern coast of BC and the warmer parts of the BC interior, and southern Ontario near Lake Erie in a dry year. Start seeds indoors in March so the slow early growth happens under lights, move plants out after the last frost, and use a rain cover in October. Height and training

Once it gets going, MAC grows tall with strong, wide branches. Top once around the fifth node and train the branches outward rather than topping several times; repeated high-stress training tends to slow MAC down. A single net at the flip keeps the canopy even. Remove the lower third of small growth at day 21 so the plant focuses on the upper tops.

Flowering and harvest cues

Buds look frosty from week four, which can make them seem ready too early. Look closely at the trichomes from day 60 and harvest when most are cloudy with a few amber, usually day 63 to 70. Dry slowly at 18 to 20 degrees and 60% humidity for 12 to 14 days. The citrus and cream notes become clear after two to three weeks of curing.
