Price range: $65.00 through $240.00

Gelatti strain is the dessert hybrid named for the two strains in it, Gelato and Biscotti: creamy berry and vanilla up front, then cookie, pepper and a soft diesel exhale, with THC that usually tests 19% to 26%. It is balanced with a slight indica lean, finishes in 8 to 10 weeks and stays a manageable 80 to 130 cm indoors. It is also the parent of Georgia Pie. Our feminized Gelatti seeds are already in Canada and ship from Vancouver, BC to every province in 3 to 7 business days.

Gelatti Feminized at a glance: Gelatti is a near-balanced cross of Gelato and Biscotti that flowers in 8 to 10 weeks, tests 19% to 26% THC and yields 400 to 500 g/m² indoors of dense, cone-shaped buds streaked with purple, carrying a sweet cream, berry and cookie profile with a peppery gas finish.

The original cut stayed private; the seeds are in a Vancouver seed bank

The first Gelatti plant was kept in-house and never sold as a clone or as seed, so growers who want it at home rely on seed lines bred from Gelato and Biscotti. Ours are stocked in Vancouver, BC and leave in a plain envelope by domestic mail, arriving in Victoria, Edmonton, Hamilton or Sherbrooke in 3 to 7 business days. Because the parcel never leaves Canada, there is no customs declaration and no import delay eating into your season. Every lot is tested for viability before sale and backed by our 80% germination guarantee, with buy one get one free on every 10 and 25 seed pack.

Where Gelatti comes from

Gelatti strain is a Gelato and Biscotti cross, and the name is a straight blend of the two. Most sources list plain Gelato as the mother, while some narrow it to Bacio Gelato, the phenotype better known as Gelato #41. Biscotti, the other parent, is itself Gelato #25 crossed with South Florida OG, so Gelatti is effectively a Gelato line reinforced with a dose of OG gas and cookie dough. It came out of the same San Francisco dessert scene that produced Gelato, Sunset Sherbet and their many offspring.

The original Gelatti was held back by the team that made it and never released as a clone or seed, which is why every seed version on the market is a remake built from the same parents. That shapes what you can expect: flavour, structure and effect are consistent across good lines, but a pack will show a little phenotype variation. A separate CBD-dominant plant also uses the name; this one is the high THC dessert hybrid. Gelatti has since become a parent itself, most famously of Georgia Pie, its cross with Kings Peach.

Gelatti strain effects and experience

Gelatti opens happy and clear. The first twenty to thirty minutes bring an easy lift in mood and a light, talkative energy, without the racing edge some gassier hybrids carry. Then the Biscotti side arrives as a warm, loose relaxation in the shoulders and back that leaves the head mostly clear. Total duration is shorter than many modern hybrids, around 90 minutes to two and a half hours.

THC ranges from 19% to 26%, with most good batches landing in the low to mid 20s. That puts Gelatti in a comfortable middle: strong enough for experienced smokers, and approachable for someone stepping up from milder flower. Some people find it more energetic and others more relaxing, which mostly comes down to phenotype and dose.

Gelatti flavour, aroma and appearance

The aroma combines sweet and sour berry, vanilla cream and a toasty cookie note, cut with a cool menthol streak and a thread of diesel underneath. Grinding brings the gas forward. The inhale tastes like berry gelato; the exhale turns peppery and earthy with a soft fuel finish, the OG grandparent showing through. Caryophyllene leads the terpene profile in most reports, followed by limonene and linalool, with myrcene and humulene in supporting roles.

Buds are dense and cone shaped, almost like small pine trees, in lime to dark forest green with purple streaks and rust orange pistils. The trichome layer is thick enough that cured flower looks dusted in icing sugar.

Growing Gelatti in Canada

Indoors

Gelatti is a moderate grow: not difficult, but not one to neglect either. Veg three to four weeks and flip at 40 to 50 cm; its stretch is modest at 1.2 to 1.7 times, so most plants finish between 80 and 130 cm. Keep the room at 22 to 26 degrees, feed at moderate strength and avoid pushing nitrogen past the second week of bloom. The colas are tight, so humidity matters more than nutrients: 50% through mid flower, 45% to 50% in the last two weeks, and constant air movement through the canopy. Most phenotypes are ready between day 60 and day 67.

Outdoors, by region

Gelatti’s 8 to 10 week bloom fits the warmer corners of Canada. On the BC coast, from Victoria to the Fraser Valley, plants set out in late May finish in early to mid October and benefit from a simple rain shelter over the final fortnight. The Okanagan’s dry autumn suits it especially well, with harvest in the first days of October. In southern Ontario, the Niagara Peninsula, Prince Edward County and the Windsor area give it enough season in most years. Elsewhere, including the Prairies, northern Ontario, most of Quebec and the Atlantic provinces, a greenhouse or hoop house is the reliable option, since a cold, wet early October can ruin dense buds. The outdoor cultivation guide covers site choice and timing.

Height and training

Top once and train the branches outward to a flat canopy of six to ten tops. Gelatti’s side branches are strong but short, so low stress training gives more benefit than repeated topping. A light defoliation at day 21 of bloom and a second clean-up around day 42 keep the interior open. Its compact frame makes it a good fit for a 120 cm tent.

Flowering and harvest cues

Purple usually starts showing from week six, especially with nights 4 to 6 degrees cooler than days. Begin checking trichomes at day 56; mostly cloudy with roughly 10% amber is the target for the balanced effect. Hang branches to dry for 10 to 14 days at about 60% humidity, then jar and burp. The cream and cookie notes take two to three weeks of curing to round out fully.

Gelatti yield indoors and outdoors

Indoors, expect 400 to 500 g/m² from a trained canopy, with up to 550 possible in a well tuned room. Outdoors in a good coastal or southern Ontario season, a plant in a 40 to 60 litre pot gives roughly 450 to 600 g of dry flower. The dense buds hold their weight well through drying and trim quickly.

Who Gelatti is for, and who should pick something else

Grow Gelatti seeds if you love Gelato flavour but want a little more depth and gas, if you need a strain that relaxes without knocking you out, or if your tent is on the small side. It suits growers with a run or two of experience and decent humidity control.

Pick something else if you want a heavy sleep strain or a big outdoor plant for the Prairies. For a simpler dessert indica with the same cookie side, Biscotti finishes a little sooner on a shorter plant.

How Gelatti compares

Gelato 41, the Bacio phenotype often named as the mother, is heavier and gassier with a bigger yield. Georgia Pie is Gelatti’s best-known child, adding ripe peach and a pastry finish. Gelato is the classic starting point, creamier and a touch more balanced. Explore more dessert crosses among our hybrid feminized seeds.

Frequently asked questions about Gelatti

What strain is Gelatti a cross of?

Gelatti is a cross of Gelato and Biscotti, and some sources name the Gelato parent as Bacio Gelato, also called Gelato #41. Since Biscotti is Gelato #25 crossed with South Florida OG, Gelatti is mostly Gelato genetics with a little OG gas.

Is Gelatti indica or sativa?

Gelatti is a balanced hybrid with a slight indica lean, roughly 50/50 to 60/40. It starts with a happy, clear lift and settles into body relaxation that rarely turns into heavy couchlock.

Is Gelatti a body high or a head high?

Gelatti is both, starting in the head and ending in the body. The first half hour is upbeat and social, and the second half brings a warm, loose relaxation while the mind stays fairly clear.

Can you buy Gelatti seeds?

Yes, Gelatti seeds are available as feminized seed lines bred from Gelato and Biscotti, because the original cut was never released as seed or clone. Our feminized Gelatti seeds are stocked in Vancouver and ship inside Canada in 3 to 7 business days.
