Pave Feminized at a glance: Pave is a balanced hybrid of Paris OG and The Menthol that flowers in 8 to 9 weeks, tests 22% to 28% THC and yields 450 to 550 g/m² of chunky, glittering buds with a menthol, cream and pine aroma.
Menthol-cool buds for a cool Canadian autumn, from a seed bank on the same coast
Pave finishes in late September or the first days of October in most of southern Canada, and the cool nights of that month bring out its frost and its faint purple. The seeds do not need to travel far. They sit in our Vancouver, BC seed bank, go out in plain packaging once payment clears, and arrive in 3 to 7 business days whether you live in Kamloops, Saskatoon or Quebec City, with no border crossing. Every lot is germination tested before it ships and covered by our 80% germination guarantee, and our 10 and 25 seed packs are buy one get one free.
Where Pave comes from
Pave strain comes from crossing Paris OG, a classic OG Kush family cut with the familiar pine, lemon and fuel, with The Menthol, a modern hybrid of Gelato 45 and a White Diesel line that carries Jet Fuel in its background. The Menthol earned its name from a cool, almost minty aroma, and it passes that trait straight down to Pave. The cross spread through West Coast craft gardens in the early 2020s.
The name is French. In jewellery, pavé means a surface paved with small diamonds set so close together that no metal shows, and a well grown Pave bud looks just like that. One point worth knowing: an older, unrelated line built on pure indica genetics also uses the name. The Pave on this page is the Paris OG and The Menthol cross, which is the one most people mean today when they search for Pave strain.
Pave strain effects and experience
Pave opens with a tingly, light-headed buzz and a lift in mood that feels social and a little giggly. Over the next half hour it becomes a calm, soothing body relaxation while the head stays reasonably clear, which is the Gelato influence in The Menthol balancing the OG weight. It suits late afternoons, a meal with friends or a slow evening at home.
With THC in the 22% to 28% range, a heavy session will become sleepy, and the OG side can give dry eyes and cottonmouth. A modest first dose shows you which way your phenotype leans.
Pave flavour, aroma and appearance
Pave is one of the few strains where mint really leads. Crack a bud and the first impression is cool menthol, then sweet cream and vanilla from the Gelato line, then OG pine, earth and a lemony fuel. The smoke is smooth, creamy and minty on the inhale, with pine and pepper on the exhale. Limonene and caryophyllene usually lead, with myrcene and a touch of linalool rounding it out.
The buds are medium to large, chunky and coated so thickly that the green barely shows through, with occasional lilac tints in a cold finish and short amber pistils. They are heavy for their size and break apart sticky.
Growing Pave in Canada
Indoors
Pave is a moderate grow with an OG-style stretch. Veg four weeks and flip at 45 to 55 cm; it roughly doubles to 90 to 150 cm. It is a medium to heavy feeder in mid flower, so raise phosphorus and potassium from week three of bloom and keep an eye on calcium. Keep the room at 23 to 27 degrees in the day and humidity near 45% in late flower. The OG side can foxtail if lights are too close or temperatures run above 28 degrees, so keep the canopy cool in the last three weeks.
Outdoors, by region
An 8 to 9 week bloom puts Pave within reach of most of Canada. In the BC Interior around Kelowna and Kamloops, the dry, sunny autumn is ideal, with harvest in late September. In southern Ontario and the St. Lawrence valley, a late May transplant finishes in the last week of September or the first days of October. In New Brunswick and Nova Scotia, choose a south-facing wall for extra warmth and harvest in early October. Prairie growers should start seeds indoors in April, move plants out after the last frost in late May, and harvest at the end of September, keeping a frost cloth handy for a cold night. Our outdoor cultivation guide covers site and soil choices.
Height and training
Because of the stretch, Pave responds best to topping twice and a trellis net set about 20 cm above the pots at the flip. Spread the main branches early, before they harden. The colas get heavy, so a second net layer in week three of flower keeps them upright and spaced for airflow.
Flowering and harvest cues
Most phenotypes are ready between day 56 and 63. Look for swollen calyxes, mostly cloudy trichomes and the first amber heads. Harvesting at the cloudy peak keeps the effect brighter and more social; waiting for 15% amber makes it heavier. Dry for 10 to 14 days at 60% humidity. The mint is clearest after a two to three week cure, when the grassy smell of fresh flower has gone.
Pave yield indoors and outdoors
Indoors, 450 to 550 g/m² is a reasonable expectation from a netted canopy, and the dense, heavy buds trim quickly. Outdoors, a plant in a 60 litre pot or in the ground gives 500 to 750 g dried in a good southern Canadian season. Resin output is high, which makes Pave a good candidate for dry sift or rosin if you save the trim.
Who Pave is for, and who should pick something else
Pave feminized seeds suit growers who are tired of fruit candy and want something cooler and stranger, people who like an OG backbone without a pure couch-lock finish, and outdoor growers in most of southern Canada who need a September or early October harvest.
Pass on Pave if your tent is under 150 cm and you do not want to manage stretch, or if you want a pure daytime strain. For a mint strain on a smaller plant, Kush Mints is the easier choice.
How Pave compares
OG Kush is the root of the Paris OG side, with more fuel and earth and no cream. Gelato carries the sweet dessert notes that The Menthol passes on, on a smaller plant with a lighter effect. Kush Mints is the closest match for the cooling mint, with a heavier indica finish. Among our hybrid feminized seeds, Pave is the mint and cream pick that still finishes before the October rain in most provinces.
Frequently asked questions about Pave
What strain is Pave?
Pave is a hybrid made by crossing Paris OG with The Menthol. Paris OG brings OG Kush style pine and fuel, and The Menthol, a Gelato 45 and White Diesel line, adds cream and a cool mint aroma. An older, unrelated line shares the name, so check the parents when you buy.
Is Pave indica or sativa?
Pave is a balanced hybrid that leans slightly indica in effect, about 55/45. It starts with a tingly, upbeat head buzz and settles into a calm body relaxation while the mind stays fairly clear.
What does Pave taste like?
Pave tastes like cool menthol and sweet cream first, then pine, earth and a little lemon fuel on the exhale. The mint is unusual for a modern hybrid and comes from The Menthol parent. It is strongest after a two to three week cure.
Why is it called Pave?
Pave is named after pavé, the French jewellery term for a surface covered edge to edge with tiny set diamonds. The name describes the thick, glittering trichome layer on its buds. It is often written with an accent as Pavé.
