Berry Pie Feminized at a glance: Berry Pie is a balanced hybrid with an 8 to 10 week flower, most plants landing near 9, 18% to 26% THC and 400 to 475 g/m² of conical, sugar coated buds that smell like blueberries, vanilla and pastry dough.
Blueberries are Canada’s top fruit export, and this pie stays right here
Canada ships more blueberries abroad than any other fruit, from Nova Scotia’s wild barrens to the Fraser Valley’s highbush fields. Berry Pie seeds go the other way: they stay home. They are stocked in our Vancouver, BC seed bank and mailed in a plain envelope to addresses from Truro to Prince George in 3 to 7 business days, with no border crossing and no customs form. A 10 or 25 seed pack comes with a second pack free under our buy one get one free offer.
Where Berry Pie comes from
Berry Pie strain is most often described as Girl Scout Cookies crossed with Blueberry. The Cookies parent gives potency, frost and a doughy sweetness, while Blueberry, the classic fruit indica, provides the jammy berry nose and a calm body feel. A few listings name Blue Dream instead of Blueberry, which would explain the brighter, more upbeat phenotypes some growers find. The goal of the cross was to bring the familiar blueberry flavour of the 1990s into a modern, frostier plant, and it has since spread to dispensary menus across North America.
The name causes some confusion. An older, unrelated Berry Pie line was sold only as regular seeds, there is a Berry Pie autoflower made with Cotton Candy, and look-alike names such as Blueberry Pie, Huckleberry Pie and Blackberry Pie are separate strains. Our Berry Pie feminized seeds carry the Girl Scout Cookies and Blueberry genetics described on this page.
Berry Pie strain effects and experience
Berry Pie opens with a light, happy lift and a slightly giggly, creative mood that makes it easy to enjoy music, a walk or a cooking project. The head stays clear for a good while, which is why many reviewers rate it as an afternoon strain. As the effect matures, the Blueberry side brings a soft, warm relaxation through the body that eases you toward the evening.
Its THC range is moderate to strong, so most people find a small amount pleasant and functional. Larger doses get more relaxing. Dry mouth and dry eyes are common, and a few people report brief anxiousness if they take too much at once.
Compared with its Girl Scout Cookies parent, Berry Pie feels less intense at the peak and lingers longer in a gentle way. That makes it a popular choice for a long afternoon with friends, a gallery visit or a slow hike, when you want to enjoy yourself without feeling flattened.
Berry Pie flavour, aroma and appearance
The aroma is sweet blueberry first, like fruit filling bubbling through a pie crust, followed by vanilla, a little floral lift and a toasted, doughy note from the Cookies parent. Cookie leaning plants add hints of chocolate and pepper. The smoke is smooth and sweet, with berries on the inhale and pastry on the exhale. Caryophyllene, limonene, linalool and myrcene are the terpenes most often reported.
The buds are dense and conical, lime to olive green with orange pistils and a thick, sugary layer of trichomes. Cool nights below about 18 degrees can bring purple streaks to the leaves and stems, a trait inherited from Blueberry.
Growing Berry Pie in Canada
Indoors
Berry Pie is fairly low maintenance and has sturdy stems that handle training. Veg for four weeks, then flip; most plants finish between 80 and 130 cm. Keep the room at 22 to 26 degrees with 50% to 60% humidity in veg, then lower it to about 40% to 45% from mid flower, because the dense, sugary buds can attract bud rot in a damp room. A gentle feed schedule is enough; the Cookies side dislikes heavy nitrogen in flower. Our humidity guide for cannabis shows how to control moisture in a small tent.
Outdoors, by region
Because most plants need around 9 weeks and some reach 10, Berry Pie belongs outdoors only in Canada’s mildest regions. Coastal BC, from Victoria and the Gulf Islands to the Fraser Valley, and southern Ontario around Niagara, Essex and Prince Edward County can harvest in early October, ideally with a rain cover for the last two weeks. In the Prairies, northern Ontario, Quebec and the Maritimes, grow it indoors or in a greenhouse where you can stretch the season. Greenhouse growers in Alberta and Manitoba can still succeed by covering plants on cold nights and harvesting in the first week of October.
Height and training
Berry Pie forms a medium height plant with strong lateral branches. Top it once or twice and use low stress training to create a flat canopy. Defoliate lightly in the first and third weeks of flower to keep air moving around the dense lower buds, and use a trellis net to support the colas late in flower.
Flowering and harvest cues
Watch the plant from about day 56. Most phenotypes are ready around day 63, and a few need until day 70. Harvest when most trichomes are cloudy with a scattering of amber for the most balanced effect. Cutting a few days early keeps the head brighter, while waiting longer deepens the body relaxation. Dry at 60% humidity over 10 to 14 days and cure for at least two weeks; the pastry note becomes much more noticeable after curing.
Berry Pie yield indoors and outdoors
Indoor gardens typically harvest about 400 to 475 g/m² with good lighting and a trained canopy. Outdoor plants in coastal BC or southern Ontario give around 450 to 550 g each in a good year. The dense, resinous buds also make good rosin, and plants trained into a flat canopy produce more uniform buds, which speeds up trimming and gives a more even cure.
Who Berry Pie is for, and who should pick something else
Berry Pie suits indoor growers who want a dessert flavour without a demanding plant, coastal gardeners with a dry autumn, and anyone who enjoys a mellow, social afternoon strain that relaxes over time.
If you live where frost arrives in September, choose something faster, and if you want an intense couch strain, look elsewhere. Those who want more berry and less cookie can look at its parent Blueberry.
It is also a good fit for growers who share a home and want a smell most people enjoy. The aroma is sweet rather than skunky, although a carbon filter is still wise in the last few weeks of flower.
How Berry Pie compares
Blueberry Muffin has a similar bakery and berry nose but is softer and lighter on frost. Girl Scout Cookies, the other parent, brings more earth, mint and potency. Grape Pie is a heavier, grape leaning pie with a stronger body effect. Browse more balanced dessert strains in our hybrid feminized seeds.
Frequently asked questions about Berry Pie
Is Berry Pie indica or sativa?
Berry Pie is a hybrid, close to 50/50. Sources split between slightly indica and slightly sativa, which matches its uplifting start and relaxing finish. Most people find it best in the afternoon or early evening.
What strain is Berry Pie crossed with?

How much THC is in Berry Pie?
Berry Pie usually tests between 18% and 26% THC. CBD is under 1%. Occasional dispensary results higher than that are outliers, so expect a moderate to strong strain.
