Banana Cream Feminized at a glance: Banana Cream is an indica dominant Banana OG x Cookies and Cream hybrid that flowers in 9 to 10 weeks, tests 20% to 26% THC and yields 450 to 600 g/m² of dense, frosted buds that smell like banana bread, vanilla cream and a little pine.
Bananas cross an ocean to reach Canadian shelves; these seeds only cross a province or two
Every banana in a Canadian grocery store has travelled thousands of kilometres. Banana Cream seeds do not have to. They are packed in our Vancouver, BC seed bank, posted in plain packaging and delivered anywhere from Whitehorse to Sydney, Nova Scotia in 3 to 7 business days, without a customs form or a broker fee. Because this is a 9 to 10 week strain, that short trip matters: an order in February gives you a seedling by early March and a full indoor run before summer heat arrives.
Where Banana Cream comes from
Banana Cream strain was bred in the United States by pairing Banana OG, the sweet, fruit-forward OG Kush descendant, with Cookies and Cream, the vanilla and nut-scented cross of Starfighter and a Girl Scout Cookies line. The aim was obvious from the name: keep the banana and add a creamy, bakery finish. The result is indica dominant, usually estimated between 60/40 and 70/30, with the stocky frame of the Cookies side and the resin of the OG side.
Search results mix it up with two other strains. Banana Cream OG is a separate Oregon cross involving Blue Dream, Banana OG and Ocean Beach OG, and Banana Cream Pie is a different dessert hybrid with Georgia Pie in its family. All three share a banana note, but the plant in this pack is the Banana OG and Cookies and Cream cross.
Banana Cream strain effects and experience
Banana Cream opens with a happy, slightly giggly mood that makes a film or a long dinner more fun. After about 30 minutes the body relaxation takes over, heavy in the legs and lower back, and the urge to move fades. By the second hour most people are content, quiet and ready for bed, which is why it earns its place as an evening strain rather than a daytime one.
At 20% to 26% THC, the sedation can surprise people who only notice the cheerful start. Keep the first session small, and expect dry mouth and red eyes, the usual side effects.
Banana Cream flavour, aroma and appearance
The smell is genuinely banana, closer to banana bread or a banana milkshake than a fresh peel, with vanilla cream and a faint nutty, cookie note underneath. A thread of pine and pepper from the OG side shows up when the bud is ground. The smoke is smooth and sweet, with banana and cream on the exhale and a light earthy finish. Caryophyllene tends to lead the terpene reports, with limonene and myrcene close behind, a mix that explains both the peppery edge and the soft fruit.
The buds are compact, rounded and very dense, olive to forest green with amber pistils and enough trichomes to look sugared. A few phenotypes pick up lavender streaks when late nights cool off, but most finish green and frosty.
Growing Banana Cream in Canada
Indoors
This is a tidy, forgiving plant for small spaces. Veg for three to four weeks, flip at around 35 cm and expect a modest stretch to a finished height of 80 to 130 cm. It likes 23 to 26 degrees during the day and responds well to a medium feed with a little extra phosphorus and potassium from week four of bloom. The colas are tight, so airflow is the main job: put one fan above the canopy and one below it, and drop humidity under 45% from week seven. Most plants are ready between day 63 and day 70.
Outdoors, by region
A 9 to 10 week flower limits Banana Cream to the longest Canadian seasons outdoors. On Vancouver Island, the Sunshine Coast and in the Fraser Valley, plant out in late May and harvest in the first half of October, ideally with a clear plastic rain cover over the plant for the final two weeks. In southern Ontario, the Niagara Peninsula and Essex County give it the best chance, again with an early to mid October harvest. Its dense buds make it a poor outdoor choice for the Prairies, the Maritimes and northern Quebec, where an indoor tent or a heated greenhouse is the reliable route. Our outdoor cultivation guide covers rain covers and site selection in more detail.
Height and training
Banana Cream grows short and bushy, with closely stacked nodes. Top it once at the fifth node and let four to six main branches develop; it does not need heavy training. Thin the interior leaves in week three of flower so light and air reach the middle of the plant, and remove small lower shoots that will never make a real bud.
Flowering and harvest cues
The banana aroma gets noticeably stronger from week six, a sign that the terpenes are building. Pistils turn amber around day 55, but wait for the trichomes: mostly cloudy with 10% to 20% amber gives the classic heavy finish. Dry for 12 to 14 days at 60% humidity and cure for at least three weeks, because the cream note is the last part of the flavour to come through.
Banana Cream yield indoors and outdoors
Indoors, a topped and well lit canopy produces 450 to 600 g/m², and the dense structure means very little weight is lost in the dry. Outdoors, a coastal BC or southern Ontario plant in a 60 litre pot or garden bed gives 500 to 750 g when the autumn stays dry. The trim is sticky and sugar-coated, so it is worth saving for dry sift or edibles.
Who Banana Cream is for, and who should pick something else
Grow Banana Cream feminized seeds if you love dessert flavours, if your space is a small tent or a closet, or if you want a reliable evening strain with dense, heavy buds.
Choose a different strain if you need something to keep you going in the afternoon, or if you garden outdoors on the Prairies. A banana strain that finishes earlier outdoors is Banana Kush, and for a brighter, fruitier daytime option, Apples and Bananas is a lively alternative.
How Banana Cream compares
Cookies and Cream, its parent, is creamier and nuttier, with less fruit and a slightly lighter body effect. Banana Kush is earthier and more classic Kush in taste. OG Kush is the root of the Banana OG side and shows where the pine and pepper finish comes from. To compare it with other heavy evening strains, see our indica feminized seeds collection.
Frequently asked questions about Banana Cream
Is Banana Cream indica or sativa?
Banana Cream is an indica dominant hybrid, usually estimated between 60/40 and 70/30 indica. It starts with a happy, giggly mood and settles into a heavy body relaxation within the first hour, so most people keep it for evenings.
What is Banana Cream strain a cross of?
Banana Cream is a cross of Banana OG and Cookies and Cream. Banana OG brings the sweet banana aroma and OG resin, while Cookies and Cream adds vanilla, nutty sweetness and a compact, dense plant structure.
Is Banana Cream the same as Banana Cream OG?
No, they are different strains that share a banana note. Banana Cream OG is a separate Oregon cross involving Blue Dream, Banana OG and Ocean Beach OG, while Banana Cream is Banana OG crossed with Cookies and Cream. Banana Cream Pie is a third, unrelated dessert strain.
How long does Banana Cream take to flower?
Banana Cream flowers in 9 to 10 weeks, or about 63 to 70 days, indoors. Outdoors it finishes in early to mid October, which works on the BC coast and in southern Ontario but is too late for most Prairie and Atlantic gardens.
Why Banana Cream suits growers who want dessert flavour on a compact, closet-sized plant

We have been doing this since 2009.
Choose a 5, 10 or 25 seed pack; the 10 and 25 packs are buy one get one free, so you can add a second strain of the same size without paying for it. Orders over $200 ship free, and orders over $420 come with 10 free seeds in the same parcel.
Everything leaves in plain, unbranded packaging and arrives in 3 to 7 business days anywhere in Canada. You can pay by Interac e-Transfer, credit card, Bitcoin or cash, and reach our team by phone, email, WhatsApp or live chat seven days a week if a dense cola starts worrying you in week eight.
