It prefers stable conditions, 22 to 27 degrees by day and 17 to 20 at night, with humidity at 50% to 55% in early flower dropping to 45% for the last three weeks. Feed at moderate strength and watch for the tip burn that Gelato lines show when pushed. Most plants finish between day 56 and day 65.

Outdoors, by region

An 8 to 9 week bloom lets Black Truffle finish across most of southern Canada. On the BC coast and in the Okanagan, harvest lands in late September. In southern and eastern Ontario, a late May transplant finishes in the first days of October, and the cool nights of the last fortnight bring out the dark colour. In Nova Scotia and New Brunswick, pick the sunniest, most sheltered spot you have and keep a cover ready for early October rain.
