Strawberry Lemonade is a sativa dominant cross of a Strawberry Cough type plant and Lemon OG that flowers in 9 to 10 weeks, tests 18% to 24% THC and yields 450 to 550 g/m² indoors of long, lime green colas that smell of ripe berries and fresh squeezed lemon.
Where Strawberry Lemonade comes from
Strawberry Lemonade strain is usually described as a cross between a potent, sativa dominant Strawberry plant and Lemon OG. The Strawberry side is generally linked to the Strawberry Cough family, which explains the creamy berry smell and the tall, airy growth. Lemon OG, a citrus forward relative of OG Kush, brings the sour lemon peel, extra resin and a sturdier frame. A few databases list the cross as Lemon OG with Strawberry Cough directly, which points to the same family.
Sources disagree on the exact ratio, with numbers from roughly 50/50 to 80/20 in favour of sativa, and that spread reflects real variation between seeds. Most plants grow and feel like a sativa dominant hybrid. Do not confuse it with Strawberry Lemon Haze, Strawberry Banana or the many lemonade crosses on dispensary menus; our Strawberry Lemonade feminized seeds carry the Strawberry and Lemon OG pairing described here.
Strawberry Lemonade strain effects and experience
Strawberry Lemonade wakes things up. Within a few minutes most people notice a quick rise in mood and energy, a sharper focus on whatever is in front of them and an easy urge to chat. It is a natural fit for a hike, a backyard barbecue, an afternoon of yard work or a long playlist while cleaning the kitchen.
The body stays light for most of the experience, with only a gentle loosening in the shoulders as it fades after two hours or so. Because the THC can reach the mid twenties and the effect is stimulating, people who get anxious on sativas should begin with a very small amount. It is better suited to morning or afternoon than to bedtime.
Strawberry Lemonade flavour, aroma and appearance
The nose is pure summer: ripe strawberry jam, then a bright squeeze of lemon zest, with a faint sugary sweetness that really does recall lemonade. On the exhale the citrus becomes more tart and a light pine and pepper note from the OG side sneaks in. Limonene leads the terpene profile, with myrcene and caryophyllene close behind, which accounts for the fruit, the slight earthiness and the gentle spice.
Colas are long and spear shaped, more foxtailed at the top than a typical hybrid. Calyxes are a pale lime green with bright orange and pink tinted pistils, and the frost is generous without being as heavy as the dessert strains. The buds are firm but not rock hard, which helps them dry evenly.
Growing Strawberry Lemonade in Canada
Indoors
Plan for height. Strawberry Lemonade can double after the switch to 12 hours, so flip early, after two to three weeks of veg, if your tent is under 1.8 metres tall. A warm room at 24 to 28 degrees suits the sativa side, with humidity near 50% in early bloom and about 45% from week five. The plant handles a medium feed well and likes plenty of light; keep the LED high enough to avoid bleaching the tall colas. Our page on maintaining the right humidity explains how to keep long colas clean through late flower.
Outdoors, by region
A 9 to 10 week flowering time limits outdoor growing to the warmest corners of Canada. The south coast of BC, the Gulf Islands and the Fraser Valley can bring it home in early to mid October with good sun and a rain cover for the final weeks. In southern Ontario, the Niagara Peninsula and the north shore of Lake Erie give it the best chance, again finishing in mid October. Growers on the Prairies, in northern Ontario, Quebec or the Maritimes should keep this strain in a tent or greenhouse, since the season simply ends too soon. In every region, choose a sunny, open spot where the tall plant gets wind and morning sun to dry the dew.
Height and training
Topping twice and bending the main branches outward keeps this sativa manageable. A trellis net set 30 cm above the pots during the stretch supports the colas and spreads them evenly under the light. Outdoors, stake each main branch before September, since a gust on a wet day can snap the heavier tops.
Flowering and harvest cues
Most plants finish between day 63 and day 70. The pistils pull in and darken, the calyxes swell and the lemon smell becomes louder and sweeter. For the bright, daytime effect most people grow it for, harvest when the trichomes are mostly cloudy with only a few amber heads. A slow dry at about 60% humidity and a cure of three weeks or more keep the delicate strawberry note from fading.
Strawberry Lemonade yield indoors and outdoors
This is one of the more generous fruit strains. Indoors, a well trained canopy returns about 450 to 550 g/m². Outdoor plants on the BC coast or in southern Ontario can reach 500 to 700 g each when planted in large containers or rich garden soil. Yields fall if the grow space is too short and the colas end up too close to the lights.
Who Strawberry Lemonade is for, and who should pick something else
Strawberry Lemonade is a fine choice for growers who have room for a tall plant, who want a fruit forward daytime strain and who enjoy social, energetic effects. It suits a second or third indoor grow and coastal gardeners with a sunny yard.
If you want something to wind down at night, or you grow outdoors with a short season, look elsewhere. Growers who want a lemon strain that beats the frost can try Pink Lemonade, which finishes sooner and grows more compact.
How Strawberry Lemonade compares
Strawberry Cough is the berry side of the family, with a stronger strawberry nose and a lighter, airier plant. Lemon OG brings the sour citrus and resin, and it grows shorter and denser. Sour Strawberry takes the berry in a more diesel direction. For more daytime plants, see our sativa feminized seeds.

Questions about Strawberry Lemonade
01Is Strawberry Lemonade indica or sativa?
Strawberry Lemonade is a sativa dominant hybrid, usually around 60% to 70% sativa. It gives an energetic, upbeat and focused effect. Its tall growth and 9 to 10 week flowering time also reflect the sativa side.
02What is Strawberry Lemonade strain a cross of?
Strawberry Lemonade is most often listed as a sativa dominant Strawberry plant crossed with Lemon OG. The strawberry parent is generally linked to the Strawberry Cough family. Some databases simply list it as Lemon OG and Strawberry Cough.
03How strong is Strawberry Lemonade strain?
Strawberry Lemonade usually tests between 18% and 24% THC, with CBD under 1%. That makes it moderately strong to strong. Its energetic effect can feel racy at higher amounts, so start small.
