Chimera Strain Feminized Marijuana Seeds
Chimera strain takes its name from the mythical beast built from several animals, and the flavour lives up to it: apricot and stone fruit up front, a sharp, savoury funk behind it and a floral, lavender like finish.

Chimera is a hybrid from White Truffle and The Creature that flowers in about 9 weeks (8 to 10 depending on the plant), tests 20% to 27% THC and gives 400 to 500 g/m² indoors of dense, dark green and violet buds with apricot, sharp funk and lavender in the jar.
Where Chimera comes from
Chimera strain is most often listed as a cross of White Truffle and The Creature. White Truffle is the famous savoury selection from Gorilla Butter, which itself comes from Gorilla Glue #4 and Peanut Butter Breath, so Chimera inherits a strong base of funk, nuts and earth. The Creature is a less documented parent, but it seems to be where the apricot fruit and the floral lift come from, since neither shows much in White Truffle.
The name causes real confusion. Chimera is also used for several separate cuts, such as Chimera #2 and Chimera #3, which appear as parents in many modern crosses with names like Mimosa x Chimera or Garlic Icing x Chimera. Those are different plants with their own profiles. Our Chimera feminized seeds follow the White Truffle and The Creature line described on this page, and we would rather say so plainly than lean on a famous name.
Chimera strain effects and experience
Chimera starts with a calm, pleasant head change: thoughts slow down a little, the mood settles and music or a film becomes easy to sink into. Within half an hour a warm, heavy feeling spreads through the limbs. It is relaxing without being an instant knockout at moderate amounts, which makes it a good choice for the early evening.
Some reviewers describe a surprisingly energetic start from certain plants, a sign of the varied genetics. At higher amounts the White Truffle side takes over and the evening tends to end on the couch. Anyone sensitive to strong THC should start small, and expect the usual dry mouth and red eyes.
Chimera flavour, aroma and appearance
Chimera smells like nothing else in a typical dessert lineup. A ripe apricot and peach skin sweetness meets a sharp, almost ammonia like funk that cuts through a room, followed by a soft lavender and herbal tone as the jar airs out. On the smoke, stone fruit leads, then a nutty, earthy body from the Peanut Butter Breath ancestry and a slightly diesel finish. Limonene is reported as the leading terpene, with caryophyllene and linalool a likely supporting cast.
Buds are dense, chunky and medium in size, deep forest green with violet and nearly black streaks in cooler rooms. White Truffle's thick resin shows up clearly: even the small lower buds look sugar coated, and the trichome heads are large, which is good news for anyone pressing rosin.
Growing Chimera in Canada
Indoors
The plant has a short, compact frame with stout branches, ending at 80 to 120 cm after a modest stretch. A three to four week veg fills a small tent nicely. Keep temperatures between 22 and 26 degrees and humidity around 50% in the first half of bloom, then lower it to 40% to 45% because the buds become tight and heavy. Good airflow under the canopy matters more than usual. The smell is strong from week four, so plan your filter before you start; our guide to concealing the smell of weed covers carbon filters and placement.
Outdoors, by region
Most Chimera plants want about nine weeks of bloom, with a few taking ten, so outdoor success depends on a dry, frost free October. The south coast of BC, the Okanagan and the Similkameen valley are the best bets, finishing in early to mid October. Southern Ontario can work in a warm year, with harvest around the second week of October. On the Prairies and in the Atlantic provinces, a greenhouse or indoor grow is far safer, as dense buds and cold, wet autumn nights are a recipe for mould. Wherever you grow, keep the plant away from fences and neighbours' windows; the funk travels.
Height and training
Chimera responds well to topping at the fifth node and gentle low stress training. Its sturdy stems hold the weight, but thinning the inner leaves at the start of bloom and again around day 21 helps light and air reach the middle of the plant. Six to ten even tops is a good target in a 60 by 60 cm tent. If a plant shows a stretchier, more sativa like build, give it an extra week of training in veg so the canopy stays level after the flip.
Flowering and harvest cues
Watch the trichomes rather than the calendar from day 56. Plants are usually ready between days 60 and 66, when most heads are cloudy and about 10% to 15% have turned amber. A slow, cool dry for 12 to 14 days preserves the apricot top note, which is the first thing to vanish in a fast, warm dry.
Chimera yield indoors and outdoors
Indoors, Chimera produces about 400 to 500 g/m² from a trained canopy, with dense flowers that hold their weight after drying. Outdoor plants in a good year on the coast produce roughly 400 to 550 g each. The resin content makes it a strong candidate for hash and rosin, where the return per plant can be higher than its flower yield suggests.
Who Chimera is for, and who should pick something else
Chimera suits growers who love unusual, savoury fruit flavours, who can control smell and humidity, and who want an evening strain with real character. It is a good next step for anyone who enjoyed the Gorilla Butter family and wants something brighter.
If you need a discreet grow without a carbon filter, or a sweet, simple dessert taste, choose something else. Fans of pure funk may prefer to start with White Truffle itself.
How Chimera compares
White Truffle is the parent and the heavier, more savoury of the two, with little fruit. Black Truffle shares the truffle family's earthy depth with darker colour. Peanut Butter Breath, a grandparent, explains the nutty base note. For more balanced plants, browse our hybrid feminized seeds.
Why Chimera suits White Truffle fans who want more fruit on top of the funk

Questions about Chimera
01What is Chimera strain a cross of?
Chimera is most often listed as White Truffle crossed with The Creature. White Truffle brings funk, nutty earth and heavy resin from the Gorilla Butter family. The Creature appears to add the apricot fruit and floral notes.
02Is Chimera indica or sativa?
Chimera is a hybrid that leans slightly toward indica. It starts calm and pleasant in the head, then settles into a warm, relaxing body feel. Some plants feel more energetic at first because the genetics vary.
03Is Chimera the same as Chimera #3?
No, Chimera #3 is a separate cut that is mostly known as a parent in other crosses. The Chimera on this page is the White Truffle and The Creature cross. Always check the lineage, since several plants share the name.
04What does Chimera strain taste like?
Chimera tastes like apricot and stone fruit with a sharp, savoury funk and a nutty, earthy body. A light lavender and herbal note shows on the finish. The smell is strong, so carbon filtration is wise indoors.
