Grape Stomper Feminized at a glance: Grape Stomper is a 60/40 sativa dominant hybrid that flowers in 9 to 10 weeks, tests 18% to 25% THC, yields 450 to 550 g/m² indoors, and pairs a sweet grape juice nose with a peppery diesel finish and a bright daytime effect.
Mid October finishes belong to Victoria and Leamington, and tents everywhere else
Grape Stomper needs up to ten weeks of flower, so outdoors it only finishes reliably where autumn is long and mild. Everyone else grows it indoors, which means the timing is up to you, provided the seeds arrive when you are ready. Ours are already here: they leave our Vancouver, BC seed bank in plain packaging, reach every province in 3 to 7 business days, and skip the customs queue completely. Each batch is viability tested in Vancouver and covered by our 80% germination guarantee, with a free second pack on every 10 and 25 seed order.
Where Grape Stomper comes from
Grape Stomper is a cross of Purple Elephant, a grape scented indica, and Chemdawg Sour Diesel, the fuel-heavy combination behind so many East Coast sativas. It circulated for years as a prized clone-only cut before it was worked into seed, and since then it has become a parent in its own right: a whole family of “Stomper” crosses carries its grape and diesel signature.
Despite the grape parent, Grape Stomper behaves like a sativa. The plant is tall and branchy, the flowering period is long, and the effect is clear and energetic. Think of it as a grape strain for people who usually prefer Sour Diesel.
Grape Stomper strain effects and experience
Grape Stomper is a daytime strain. The onset is quick and cerebral, with an upbeat, creative focus that suits a hike, a cleaning spree, a sketchbook or a long conversation. A light body ease follows later, enough to take the edge off without slowing you down, and most sessions end around the two hour mark without the heavy crash of an indica.
At 18% to 25% THC it is strong but not extreme for a modern strain. People prone to racy feelings from sativas should start small, as the diesel side can feel speedy at higher doses.
Grape Stomper flavour, aroma and appearance
The aroma is sweet, sticky grape juice, like a freshly opened bottle of grape soda, layered over spicy diesel and a little citrus and berry. Grinding the buds releases more of the fuel. The smoke is smooth, tasting of grape candy on the way in and pepper and gas on the way out. Myrcene and caryophyllene lead, with limonene and pinene adding the brighter top notes.
Buds are long and slightly loose, as sativa colas tend to be, lime green with patches of purple when the nights cool, orange pistils and a good coat of resin. The larger colas can foxtail a little in a warm room, which is a sign to lower the temperature rather than a problem with the plant.
Growing Grape Stomper in Canada
Indoors
Grape Stomper doubles in size after the flip, so keep veg short, three weeks from seed, and flip at around 40 cm. Expect finished plants of 100 to 160 cm. It feeds moderately and likes a little extra calcium and magnesium under LED lighting. Run 24 to 27 degrees in the day and keep the canopy below 28 degrees in late flower to stop foxtailing. Flowering takes 63 to 72 days; some phenotypes are ready in nine weeks, others want the full ten.
Outdoors, by region
Outdoors, Grape Stomper is a southern Canada plant. On Vancouver Island, the Sunshine Coast and the Lower Mainland, start seeds indoors in April, transplant in late May and expect a harvest in the first half of October; a simple rain cover protects the long colas from autumn storms. In southern Ontario, the Leamington and Niagara area offers the best chance, with harvest around the second week of October in a dry year. Quebec, the Prairies, the Atlantic provinces and the north are better served by an indoor tent or a heated greenhouse, as the first frost usually arrives before the plant is done.
Height and training
Height control is the main job. Top twice, train the branches out under a screen of green, and supercrop any tops that run ahead of the rest in the first two weeks of flower. Outdoors, give it space, a big pot of 80 litres or more, and a sturdy stake or cage, because a full season plant can reach 250 cm. Our indoor growing guide for Canada covers tent sizing for tall strains.
Flowering and harvest cues
Sativa trichomes mature slowly. Check from day 63 and harvest when most heads are cloudy with only a few amber, which keeps the effect clear and bright. Waiting for heavy amber dulls the uplifting character. Dry for 12 days at around 60% humidity; the grape aroma is strongest after three weeks in the jar.
Grape Stomper yield indoors and outdoors
Indoors, a screened canopy gives 450 to 550 g/m². Outdoors in coastal BC or a sheltered southern Ontario yard, a full season plant can produce 600 to 800 g, and greenhouse plants regularly reach the top of that range. The buds are lighter per volume than dense indica colas, so the plants look heavier than they weigh, but the total harvest is generous.
Who Grape Stomper is for, and who should pick something else
Grow Grape Stomper seeds if you want a daytime strain with a sweet grape flavour, if you have the height to manage a stretchy sativa, or if you want a proven parent for your own crosses.
Pick something else if your tent is short, if you need an outdoor plant for a short season, or if you want a heavy evening strain; Grape Ape is the indica grape option and finishes sooner on a compact plant.
How Grape Stomper compares
Sour Diesel sits on the fuel side of the family, sharper and more energetic with no grape at all. Chemdog is the chem grandparent, sourer and more pungent. For a grape strain with more weight and a heavier effect, Grape Gas is the evening counterpart. Grape Stomper is one of the most flavourful of our sativa feminized seeds.
Frequently asked questions about Grape Stomper
Is Grape Stomper indica or sativa?
Grape Stomper is a sativa dominant hybrid, roughly 60% sativa and 40% indica. The effect is uplifting and creative, with a light body ease that does not cause couch lock. The plant grows tall and stretches about twice its height after the flip.
What is Grape Stomper a cross of?
Grape Stomper comes from Purple Elephant crossed with Chemdawg Sour Diesel. Purple Elephant provides the grape aroma and some colour, while the Chemdawg Sour Diesel side adds the fuel notes, the stretch and the energetic effect. It was a clone-only cut before it was released as seed.
How strong is Grape Stomper?
Grape Stomper typically tests between 18% and 25% THC with low CBD. It is strong without being overwhelming for most experienced users, and the effect lasts around two hours. People sensitive to energetic sativas should start with a small amount.
How long does Grape Stomper take to flower?
Grape Stomper flowers for 9 to 10 weeks indoors, between 63 and 72 days depending on the phenotype. Outdoor Grape Stomper plants are ready in early to mid October, a timeline that works on the BC coast and in the warmest corner of southern Ontario. In colder regions, grow it indoors or in a greenhouse.
Why Grape Stomper is the grape strain we suggest for daytime rather than the couch
Stretchy sativas reward an early start, and that only works if the seeds show up on schedule. Grape Stomper ships from our Vancouver, BC seed bank in an unbranded envelope and reaches Canadian addresses in 3 to 7 business days, never crossing a border. Free shipping kicks in at $200, and the $30 tracked and insured service includes one free reshipment if a package is lost.
Every batch is checked for viability in Vancouver, where we have sold seeds since 2009. Use the method in our germination guide, a cup of water followed by a damp paper towel, and the pack is protected by our 80% germination guarantee. Grape Stomper is available in 5, 10 and 25 seed packs, and the 10 and 25 packs are buy one get one free with any strain of equal size. Orders over $420 receive 10 extra seeds.
