Gushers is a compact plant with a moderate stretch of 1.3 to 1.5 times. Veg for four weeks, flip at 45 cm, and it finishes around 80 to 120 cm, making it a good fit for a small tent or a closet space. It prefers a moderate feed; too much nitrogen in early flower dulls the fruit and delays the colour change. Keep the room at 22 to 26 degrees and drop night temperatures to 15 to 17 degrees in the final three weeks to bring out the purple and blue. Flower runs 56 to 63 days, with humidity under 45% from week six.

Outdoors, by region

An 8 to 9 week bloom and a short frame make Gushers a strong outdoor option across most of Canada. In coastal and interior BC and in southern Ontario, plant out in late May and expect harvest between the last week of September and early October; the cool autumn nights in the BC Interior and the Ottawa Valley produce some of the deepest colour you will see. In Quebec and the Maritimes, a sheltered, sunny spot and a raised bed that drains well bring it in by early October. Height and training

Top once at the fourth or fifth node and use low stress training to spread the branches into an even canopy of eight to ten tops. The branches are strong enough to carry the buds with a single net at the flip. Lightly defoliate at day 21 to open the interior; avoid heavy stripping, which can slow the plant.

Flowering and harvest cues

The purple usually begins in week six, and the fruit aroma sharpens noticeably in the final two weeks. Harvest when most trichomes are cloudy with 10% amber, usually day 58 to 63. Dry slowly at 60% humidity and around 18 degrees for 10 to 14 days, then cure for at least two weeks; the candy sweetness fills out after the second week in the jar.

Indoors, a trained plant gives 450 to 550 g/m². Outdoors, a full-season plant in a 50 to 75 litre pot or the ground produces 500 to 700 g dried, and Prairie plants started in April typically return 350 to 450 g.
