In short

High Society is a 60/40 indica leaning hybrid that flowers in 9 to 10 weeks, tests 20% to 28% THC, yields 400 to 550 g/m² indoors, and pairs cookie dough and cream with a loud diesel and pepper finish on dense, frost-coated buds.

Where High Society comes from

High Society is a cross of two strains that already sit near the top of the dessert and gas category. Biscotti, itself Gelato #25 crossed with South Florida OG, brings the doughy sweetness, the compact frame and the heavy resin. Jet Fuel Gelato, a Jet Fuel and Gelato #45 cross, adds a piercing diesel note and a more upbeat start to the effect. The result appeared in the early 2020s and found a following among growers who wanted something sweeter than straight fuel but louder than a plain cookie.

The name reads as a nod to its upmarket parents, and the strain lives up to it in the jar. Expect a medium height plant with an indica lean in its structure and its effect, though the Jet Fuel side gives it more stretch than Biscotti alone.

High Society strain effects and experience

High Society starts with a warm, happy lift, a few minutes of easy laughter and clear focus that comes from the Jet Fuel Gelato parent. After half an hour the Biscotti side arrives, loosening the shoulders and slowing the pace until the evening feels unhurried. It is calm rather than knockout for most of the session, with a drowsier tail end in the third hour.

With THC landing between 20% and 28%, it is best saved for after work. Newer users should treat a single small session as plenty and see how the second half of the effect feels before going further.

High Society flavour, aroma and appearance

The aroma leads with sweet cookie dough and vanilla cream, then a sharp blast of diesel hits as the bud breaks apart, with cracked black pepper and a hint of orange peel in the background. On a clean glass piece it tastes of shortbread and fuel at the same time. Caryophyllene accounts for the pepper and the depth, limonene for the citrus edge, and myrcene for the earthy base.

Buds are dense, rounded and heavily frosted, with olive green calyxes that can pick up purple in a cool finish and short, rusty pistils. Resin coverage is the visual highlight: a cured nug leaves sticky residue on the fingers, which is good news for anyone pressing rosin.

Growing High Society in Canada

Indoors

Run a four week veg and flip around 50 cm; the stretch is about 1.6 to 1.8 times, so plants finish between 90 and 140 cm. High Society likes a warm room at 24 to 27 degrees with steady airflow, and a medium to heavy feed through mid flower. The colas are tight, so from week six keep humidity at 40% to 45% and avoid big swings between day and night temperatures. Plan on 63 to 70 days from the flip; the fuel aroma builds noticeably in the final ten days.

Outdoors, by region

A 9 to 10 week flower limits High Society outdoors to the mildest parts of the country. On the south coast of BC, including Victoria, the Gulf Islands and the Lower Mainland, start seedlings indoors in April, plant out in late May and plan an early to mid October harvest under a rain shelter. In southern Ontario, the Lake Erie shore and the Niagara Peninsula offer the best odds, but a greenhouse is the safer bet in a wet autumn. In the Prairies, northern Ontario, Quebec and Atlantic Canada, treat it as an indoor or greenhouse plant; our best outdoor seeds for Canada guide lists strains that finish weeks earlier.

Height and training

Top twice and build a flat canopy with a screen of green; the Jet Fuel side throws long side branches that reward training with eight to twelve even colas. Clean out the inner growth at the start of week three of flower to open airflow through the middle of the plant. A second net layer helps once the buds put on weight.

Flowering and harvest cues

Do not cut early just because the pistils have turned. From day 60, check the trichomes on the buds themselves rather than the sugar leaves, and harvest when they are mostly milky with around 10% amber. Hang whole branches for 12 to 14 days at 60% humidity; the cookie side of the aroma needs a three week cure to come back after the diesel dominates the dry.

High Society yield indoors and outdoors

Indoors, a trained High Society canopy returns 400 to 550 g/m² of hard, heavy buds that lose little weight in the dry. Outdoors on the BC coast, a full season plant in a 60 to 80 litre pot or a raised bed can give 450 to 650 g, and greenhouse plants in southern Ontario land in the same range. Resin returns are above average, so wash or press the trim rather than tossing it.

Who High Society is for, and who should pick something else

Grow High Society seeds if you like the cookie flavour of Biscotti but want more punch and more fuel, if you have a tent or a greenhouse that can carry a ten week flower, or if you make rosin at home.

Pick something else if you need an outdoor plant for a short Prairie season, or if you want a smaller, faster plant from the same family, where Biscotti finishes a week sooner on a shorter frame.

How High Society compares

Jet Fuel Gelato, the other parent, is livelier and gassier with less of the dough. Gelato 33 sits further back in the family tree and is creamier and gentler. Among our indica leaning feminized seeds and dessert hybrids, High Society is the pick for growers who want sweet and gas in equal measure. It also belongs in any shortlist from our high THC seeds guide.

Questions about High Society

01What strain is High Society?

High Society is a cross of Biscotti and Jet Fuel Gelato. Biscotti brings the cookie dough flavour and the dense, resin heavy buds, and Jet Fuel Gelato adds the diesel aroma and a brighter start to the effect. The result is an indica leaning dessert and gas hybrid.

02Is High Society indica or sativa?

High Society is an indica leaning hybrid, roughly 60% indica and 40% sativa. The first half hour feels upbeat and social, then a relaxed, heavy body feeling takes over for the rest of the session. The plant grows to a medium height with a moderate stretch.

03How strong is High Society?

High Society generally tests between 20% and 28% THC, with CBD under 1%. Most people find it strong, so start small. The effect lasts two to three hours and gets drowsier toward the end.

04Can I grow High Society outdoors in Canada?

Only in the mildest regions. It needs 9 to 10 weeks of flower, so outdoor plants on the south coast of BC and in the warmest parts of southern Ontario finish in early to mid October with a rain cover. Elsewhere in Canada, grow it indoors or in a greenhouse.
