Limonene leads, myrcene and caryophyllene fill the base, and pinene shows up in some panels as a green, resinous top note.

Appearance is the reason this strain won its cup. Mature buds go plum and near-black across most of the flower, threaded with pale yellow and orange pistils and frosted heavily enough to turn the dark calyxes grey-violet. Indoors

It grows like a sativa leaning Cookies plant: a strong stretch and a fast finish. Veg three to four weeks and flip early at 35 to 45 cm, since it roughly doubles to 80 to 150 cm. It prefers a cooler room than the indica hybrids, 21 to 25 degrees, and takes a moderate feed with extra potassium through the second half of flower. The colas stack tight in the top third, so prune the interior at week three and keep a fan on the canopy. Flowering is quick at 53 to 61 days, an advantage when you are cycling one tent.

Outdoors, by region

A finish this fast opens up most of the country. BC and southern Ontario transplant in late May and cut in the last week of September, often before the autumn rain properly sets in. Quebec and the Maritimes follow within a week or so, though the dense top colas want a sheltered spot and a look after every heavy rain. On the Prairies, an early April indoor start and a late May transplant bring it in around the third week of September, ahead of frost, and the cold nights before that pull the purple through. It gets tall outdoors, up to 200 cm, so give it room and something to lean on.

Height and training

Top twice and net it, or accept a plant that puts most of its energy into one long central cola. The branches are on the thin side compared to the indica hybrids, so tie them out gradually during the stretch rather than forcing them, and add support under the main colas from week six because the purple buds get top-heavy. Strip the bottom third at the flip, since the lower growth rarely amounts to much on a stretchy plant.

Flowering and harvest cues

The purple arrives early and is no guide to ripeness, which catches out more growers here than anywhere else in this batch. Watch the pistils curl and the calyxes fatten, then check heads from day 53. Mostly cloudy with almost no amber keeps the effect bright; waiting for 15% amber makes it heavier and loses the daytime quality that is the whole point. Dry cool at 16 to 18 degrees for 10 to 12 days to protect the citrus terpenes, which are the first thing a warm dry room destroys, then cure two weeks or more.

Indoors, 400 to 500 g/m² is the realistic band for a netted canopy, and it is the lowest indoor figure in this batch, which is the trade for the short flowering window and the clear-headed effect. Outdoors is a different story: a full-season plant in a 60 to 80 litre pot returns 600 to 900 g dried, and the September finish means most of the country can get there. Prairie growers with a shorter season should still expect 400 to 550 g. The buds trim cleanly and hold their shape, so the wet to dry drop is less painful than on a fluffier sativa.
