Jealousy Strain Feminized Marijuana Seeds

Price range: $65.00 through $240.00

Jealousy is a Sherbert Bx1 and Gelato 41 hybrid bred for resin, and its dark purple, frost-soaked buds are the reason it became a dispensary headline. It tests 22% to 30% THC, smells of fresh-cut wood, sweet cream, citrus and gas, and delivers a bright, talkative head with a calm body underneath. Flowering takes 8 to 9 weeks, so it finishes outdoors in most Canadian regions. Feminized seeds, shipped domestically from our Vancouver seed bank in 3 to 7 business days.

Jealousy Feminized at a glance: a balanced 55/45 hybrid that flowers in 8 to 9 weeks, tests 22% to 30% THC, yields 450 to 600 g/m² indoors and up to 900 g per plant outside, with purple, resin-heavy buds and a creamy, woody, citrus and gas aroma.

Four plants per household, so each seed has to count

Most provinces cap home growing at four plants per household, which means the quality of every seed matters more than the size of the packet. Jealousy is a strong candidate for one of those four spots, and our seeds for it are already in Canada, stored and viability tested at our Vancouver, BC seed bank and sent by domestic mail in plain packaging. They reach any province in 3 to 7 business days, the 80% germination guarantee covers the pack, and every 10 and 25 seed pack is buy one get one free, so you can keep spare seeds for next season.

Where Jealousy comes from

Jealousy combines Sherbert Bx1, a backcrossed selection of the fruity, relaxing Sherbert line, with Gelato 41, the heavy, gassy Gelato phenotype that also fathered Gushers. The cross was made in California in the late 2010s with the goal of stacking resin and colour, and by the early 2020s it had become one of the most decorated hybrids in North American cannabis competitions and one of the most requested names on legal shelves.

Because both parents come from the same Sunset Sherbet and Girl Scout Cookies family, the plant is fairly uniform from seed. Most phenotypes grow tall for a dessert strain, with long branches and big, heavy tops.

Jealousy strain effects and experience

Jealousy starts in the head. The onset is quick and upbeat, with a clear, social lift that makes it easy to laugh and hard to stop talking. That bright phase can last an hour or more before a steady calm moves into the body, loosening the shoulders without dragging you down. It suits late afternoons, gatherings and creative hobbies more than bedtime.

The potency is serious. Lab results for Jealousy commonly land between 22% and 30% THC, and an enthusiastic first puff can feel racy for occasional consumers. Go slowly.

Jealousy flavour, aroma and appearance

The nose is unusual for a Gelato child. Instead of pure candy, the first impression is fresh-cut wood and earth, then sweet cream, orange peel and a sharp line of gas. On the smoke the sherbet sweetness comes forward and the finish is creamy and slightly peppery. Caryophyllene, limonene and linalool generally lead the terpene profile, with humulene adding the woody note.

The look is what sells it. Calyxes swell into dense, rounded buds that go deep purple to almost black in a cool room, and they are coated so heavily with trichomes that they look wet under a light. Bright orange pistils make the contrast even stronger.

Growing Jealousy in Canada

Indoors

Jealousy has more stretch than most dessert hybrids, around 2 times after the flip, so flip at 40 to 50 cm to finish at 100 to 150 cm. It likes 24 to 27 degrees during lights on and responds well to a 6 to 8 degree night drop in the last three weeks, which is when the purple really develops. Feed at a medium strength and add calcium and magnesium under LED lighting. Big colas mean a dense canopy, so plan airflow from day one and keep humidity under 45% from week six; our humidity guide for cannabis has the target numbers for each stage. Expect 56 to 65 days of flower.

Outdoors, by region

With an 8 to 9 week bloom, Jealousy is one of the few top-shelf dessert strains that finishes outdoors in most of Canada. In the Okanagan, the Kootenays and the Fraser Valley, plant out in late May and harvest in the last week of September. Southern and eastern Ontario gardens usually finish in the first days of October. In Nova Scotia and New Brunswick, pick the sunniest, most wind-protected corner and expect an early October chop. In Alberta and Saskatchewan, germinate indoors in the first half of April, harden the plant off in May and transplant after the last frost; a sheet or frost cloth on the first cold nights of September will carry it to the finish. A late summer drop in night temperatures is a gift here, since it brings out the colour.

Height and training

Jealousy benefits from control. Top once or twice in veg, then bend and tie the branches to build a wide, even canopy; our guide to low stress training explains the tie-down method step by step. A trellis net is close to essential indoors because the tops get heavy by week seven. Outdoors, a tomato cage or a few bamboo stakes keep the big side branches from snapping in the wind.

Flowering and harvest cues

Trichome production kicks in early, around week three, and never really stops. Harvest when most heads are cloudy with 5% to 15% amber, generally between day 58 and 65. An earlier cut keeps the head effect lively, while a later one leans more relaxed. Dry for 10 to 14 days at 60% humidity and cure in sealed jars; the wood and gas soften and the cream comes through after two to three weeks.

Jealousy yield indoors and outdoors

A trained indoor canopy delivers 450 to 600 g/m². Outdoors, Jealousy is a real producer: in a good BC or Ontario summer a plant in the ground or a 100 litre pot can return 600 to 900 g of dried flower, and April-started Prairie plants usually give 400 to 600 g. The resin content makes it a favourite for extraction, and the trim alone is worth running through a dry sift screen.

Who Jealousy is for, and who should pick something else

Choose Jealousy if you want a high potency hybrid with a social, uplifting start, a jar with standout colour, or a strain that yields well outdoors without needing an October finish. Experienced consumers will appreciate the strength.

Choose something else if you are sensitive to racy highs or want a sleepy nightcap, where Pure Michigan is the heavier indica, or if you want a shorter plant for a small tent.

How Jealousy compares

Gushers shares Gelato 41 as a parent but is sweeter, fruitier and more sedating. Sunset Sherbet, an ancestor on the Sherbert side, is gentler and lower in THC. For growers comparing the strongest hybrids we carry, our roundup of the best high THC seeds in Canada shows where Jealousy sits against the rest.

Frequently asked questions about Jealousy

Why is it called Jealousy strain?

The name reflects the reaction the breeder expected from other growers when they saw the dark purple, resin-drenched buds. It is a cross of Sherbert Bx1 and Gelato 41, and it became one of the most talked-about hybrids in North America soon after its release.

Is Jealousy a sativa or indica?

Jealousy is a balanced hybrid, close to 55% indica and 45% sativa. The effect starts upbeat and social in the head, then settles into a relaxed body feel without heavy sedation. The plant grows taller and stretchier than most Gelato-line hybrids.

How much THC does Jealousy have?

Jealousy usually tests between 22% and 30% THC, with CBD under 0.5%. Results depend on the phenotype, lighting, harvest timing and cure. It is a strain for experienced consumers; newcomers should start with a very small amount.

When is Jealousy ready to harvest outdoors in Canada?

Outdoors it finishes from the last week of September to the first week of October. That works in BC’s southern interior and coast, southern and eastern Ontario and the Maritimes, and on the Prairies if you start seeds indoors in April and protect the plant on the first frosty nights.
