Outdoors, by region

An 8 to 9 week finish opens most of the country. In BC and southern Ontario, plant out in late May and cut in the last week of September or the first days of October. Quebec and the Maritimes work with a sheltered spot and a late May transplant, though the dense buds make a rain cover worthwhile for the last fortnight. Prairie gardens need an April indoor start and a late May transplant to finish in the final week of September, and the cold nights that arrive there first are what produce the darkest colour on this plant. Wherever you are, the deciding factor is a dry finish rather than heat.

Height and training

Top at the fourth node, train the branches outward, and run one net. The aim is to raise the number of tops rather than the size of any one of them, because the stem-hugging bud structure means a single monster cola is a rot risk. Flowering and harvest cues

Calyxes swell hard in the last ten days and the colour comes with them. Check trichomes from day 54 and harvest at fully cloudy with the first amber, usually day 58 to 63, for the clean two-stage effect; more amber pulls it toward a straightforward evening indica and costs the mint on the exhale. Hang whole branches, dry for 12 to 14 days at 60% humidity, and cure at least three weeks. The mint is faint until week two in the jar and then becomes the defining note.
