The Soap Strain Feminized Marijuana Seeds

Price range: $65.00 through $240.00

The Soap strain is a double-mint hybrid of Animal Mints and Kush Mints that smells clean rather than sweet: fresh soap, camphor, pine and a surprising pineapple top note over a faint cheesy base. It tests 20% to 27% THC, flowers in 9 to 10 weeks and gives a focused, upbeat high with a gentle landing, which is rare for the Mints family. Our feminized seeds of The Soap are already in Canada, viability tested in Vancouver and shipped across the country in plain packaging within 3 to 7 business days.

The Soap Feminized at a glance: The Soap is a slightly sativa leaning hybrid that flowers in 9 to 10 weeks, tests 20% to 27% THC and yields 400 to 550 g/m² indoors of frosty, olive and purple-flecked buds that smell of clean soap, mint and pineapple.

Carbon filters, condo boards and a strain that smells like laundry day

Plenty of Canadians grow under shared roofs, in condos, townhouses and basement suites, and a strain that smells like fresh soap is easier to live with than one that smells like garlic. The seeds are already here: they ship from our Vancouver, BC seed bank in plain, unbranded packaging and arrive in 3 to 7 business days in every province, with nothing on the parcel to start a conversation in the mailroom. Each batch is viability tested in Vancouver and covered by our 80% germination guarantee, and every 10 and 25 seed pack is buy one get one free.

Where The Soap comes from

The Soap strain is a cross of Animal Mints, itself a mix of Animal Cookies, Girl Scout Cookies and Blue Power, and Kush Mints, which is Animal Mints crossed with Bubba Kush. That makes it something close to an Animal Mints line with an extra dose of Kush. It came out of Southern California around 2019, picked up a following on Los Angeles menus, and has since appeared on Canadian legal shelves in pre-rolls and flower.

The name is about the smell. Instead of the dough and vanilla most Cookies descendants carry, The Soap has a sharp, clean scent that reminds people of bar soap, laundry detergent and fresh linens. Sources disagree on whether to call it sativa or indica, which reflects its effect more than its genetics: the plant grows like a medium Mints hybrid, but most people find the high clearer and more energising than its parents.

The Soap strain effects and experience

The Soap tends to come on as a clean, focused lift. Within minutes there is a bright, alert mood, a sense of clarity and a light energy that suits a creative project, a long conversation or getting through a to-do list. The body effect is present but light: a loose, comfortable feeling rather than heaviness, which makes this one of the more usable Mints strains during the day.

With 20% to 27% THC it is still strong. Most people say the comedown is easy and gradual, without the heavy, sleepy finish common to Kush Mints. Start low, especially on phenotypes at the top of that range.

The Soap flavour, aroma and appearance

Open the jar and the room smells freshly washed: bar soap and floral detergent first, then cool mint, camphor and pine. Under that, a surprising tropical note comes through, most often described as pineapple, with a faint cheesy, funky edge from the Cookies family. The smoke is cool and smooth, minty and herbal on the inhale with a sweet pineapple and pine exhale. Vaped at low temperatures the pineapple shows up first. Limonene, caryophyllene and linalool lead most tests, with pinene giving the forest note.

Buds are medium sized, dense and heavily frosted, olive to sage green with flecks of purple and plenty of thin orange pistils. Dried, they look silver under light, typical for both Mints parents.

Growing The Soap in Canada

Indoors

The Soap behaves like a medium Mints hybrid. Veg four weeks from seed, flip at 50 to 60 cm, and expect a 1.5 to 1.8 times stretch to 90 to 150 cm. It likes a steady room, 23 to 27 degrees by day with nights no more than five degrees cooler, and a moderate feed that builds slowly; the Cookies side shows nutrient burn on leaf tips if pushed early. Bloom runs 60 to 70 days. From week six, hold humidity at 40% to 45% and keep air moving through the canopy, because the buds are dense and resinous.

Outdoors, by region

A 9 to 10 week bloom limits The Soap outdoors to the warmest, longest seasons in Canada. On the south coast of British Columbia, from Victoria to the Fraser Valley, start indoors in April, plant out in late May, and harvest in early to mid October under a rain shelter. In southern Ontario, especially around Lake Erie and the Niagara Peninsula, it can finish by early October in a dry year; give plants wide spacing and an open site with good airflow. Elsewhere, including the Interior, the Prairies, Quebec and Atlantic Canada, grow it in a tent or greenhouse where you can control the finish. The growing indoors in Canada guide covers the setup.

Height and training

Top once or twice and spread the branches with low stress training to make a flat canopy of eight to twelve tops under a single trellis net. The stretch is noticeable but controllable when you flip at the right height. A light defoliation at the start of flower and again around week four opens the bud sites and helps airflow; avoid heavy stripping, since the Mints lines can stall when shocked.

Flowering and harvest cues

Many phenotypes look ready around day 56, but resin keeps maturing for another one to two weeks. Begin checking trichomes at day 60 and harvest at mostly cloudy with a few amber heads for the clearest, most energising effect, or at 15% amber for a heavier result. Dry for 12 to 14 days at around 60% humidity and 18 degrees, then cure for at least two to three weeks: the soapy, clean aroma gets sharper and the pineapple gets sweeter as the cure goes on.

The Soap yield indoors and outdoors

Indoors, a well trained canopy gives 400 to 550 g/m² of dense, frosty buds. Outdoors on the BC coast, a full-season plant in a large container or in the ground produces 500 to 700 g dried. Resin production is the strong point: the trichome heads separate easily, so ice water hash and rosin returns are good for a strain with this flavour. Keep the trim for extraction.

Who The Soap is for, and who should pick something else

Grow The Soap if you are tired of dessert and gas strains and want something that smells genuinely different, if you prefer a clear, functional high, or if you grow in shared housing and want a cleaner smelling plant. It suits growers with at least one run behind them who can manage a dry finish.

Pick something else if you need an outdoor plant for a short northern season; if you want a heavy sleep strain, where Kush Mints is the heavier parent; or if you want a sweet, fruity flavour profile instead of a clean, herbal one.

How The Soap compares

Animal Mints, one parent, is sweeter and more cookie-like, with a similar minty edge and a more balanced effect. Zoap is the other famous soap-scented strain, more floral and fruity with a candy finish, from different genetics. Bubble Bath shares the clean, bubbly aroma idea with a sweeter, creamier body. The Soap is one of our hybrid feminized seeds and the clean-scented choice for growers who want something unusual.

Frequently asked questions about The Soap

What strain is The Soap?

The Soap is a hybrid cross of Animal Mints and Kush Mints, released around 2019 in Southern California. It is named for its clean, soap-like aroma of fresh laundry, mint and pine with a pineapple top note, and it usually tests between 20% and 27% THC.

Is The Soap indica or sativa?

The Soap is a hybrid that most people describe as slightly sativa leaning in effect. Its parents are both Mints hybrids, so the plant grows like a medium indica-leaning hybrid, but the high is usually clear, focused and upbeat with a light body feel and an easy comedown.

Why does The Soap smell like soap?

The clean smell comes from a terpene mix led by limonene, caryophyllene and linalool, with pinene and a camphor-like note from the Mints genetics. Together they read as bar soap, fresh linens and mint rather than sweet dessert, with pineapple underneath.

How long does The Soap take to flower?

The Soap flowers in 9 to 10 weeks, about 60 to 70 days from the switch to 12/12. Outdoors in Canada that means an early to mid October harvest, so it suits the BC coast and southern Ontario, or an indoor tent anywhere else.
