Rural route, Canada Post depot or downtown condo, the parcel finds you in under two weeks
Slurty 3 has made it onto legal menus in Ontario and other provinces, but growing your own means getting seeds to wherever you live, and not everyone lives near a sorting centre. We ship from Vancouver, BC to rural routes, general delivery addresses, post office boxes and apartment buildings alike, in plain packaging, and most parcels arrive in 3 to 7 business days without crossing a border. Each batch is viability tested here before it ships, covered by our 80% germination guarantee, and every 10 and 25 seed pack is buy one get one free.
Where Slurty 3 comes from
Slurty 3 strain is the third numbered selection from a cross of Slurricane and Gelato 33, made by a small Oakland breeding team and released in the late 2010s. Slurricane itself is Do-Si-Dos crossed with Purple Punch, so the family tree carries the minty, earthy Cookies influence, the grape and berry of Purple Punch, and the creamy, sweet structure of Gelato. The number in the name simply marks which phenotype was kept; there is no Slurty 1 or 2 in general circulation.
Some write-ups claim it is a direct Do-Si-Dos and Purple Punch cross, but that mixes up Slurty 3 with its parent. The Slurricane x Gelato 33 pedigree is the one most strain libraries and growers agree on, and it explains both the berry and the extra cake on the nose.
Slurty 3 strain effects and experience
Slurty 3 is a classic example of an indica dominant strain that does not behave like one in the first hour. The onset is quick and cheerful: giggles, a talkative mood and a light, buzzy head that makes it a good pick for a games night or a dinner with friends. The Gelato side keeps the mind clear enough to follow the conversation.
As the session goes on, the Slurricane heaviness builds in the body, and by the ninety minute mark most people are relaxed, a little hungry and happy to sit back. At 19% to 25% THC it is strong but rarely overwhelming, provided you let the first round land before deciding on a second.
Slurty 3 flavour, aroma and appearance
The aroma is layered. Sweet berries and a floral note come up first, followed by vanilla cake and a pungent, earthy gas that grows louder as you grind. On the palate it reads sweet and creamy on the inhale, with diesel and a touch of pepper on the way out. Caryophyllene, limonene and linalool are the terpenes most often reported, which fits the mix of pepper, citrus brightness and floral sweetness.
Buds are small to medium, round and very tight, with deep green calyxes flecked with lavender and purple. The trichome coverage is heavy enough that the colours look dusted with frost, and the sugar leaves often turn almost black in a cool finish. It is a bag appeal strain in the truest sense.
Growing Slurty 3 in Canada
Indoors
Slurty 3 is a compact, tidy grower, finishing around 80 to 120 cm from a four to five week veg. It stretches only about 1.3 to 1.5 times, which makes it easy to fit under a low ceiling or a 120 cm tent. It prefers a moderate feed and a slightly acidic root zone, around 5.8 to 6.2 in coco and 6.2 to 6.5 in soil; Purple Punch descendants show calcium and magnesium shortages quickly under LED, so a cal-mag supplement from week two of flower is good insurance. Temperatures of 22 to 26 degrees by day and a 5 degree drop at night bring out the purple. Expect 56 to 63 days of bloom and keep humidity around 45% in the last three weeks. Our indoor growing guide for Canada covers tent setup in more detail.
Outdoors, by region
The 8 to 9 week flower means Slurty 3 works outdoors across most of Canada. On the BC coast, in the Kootenays and in the Okanagan, plant out in late May and harvest in the last ten days of September. Southern Ontario and the St. Lawrence valley give a similar late September finish in a sunny spot. In the Maritimes and northern Ontario, give it the warmest wall or a small greenhouse and expect harvest by the first week of October. Prairie growers should start indoors in early April so the plant has a good root system when it goes out after the May long weekend; its compact size makes it easy to cover on a frosty September night.
Height and training
Because it stays small, Slurty 3 rewards a wide, flat canopy. Top once or twice in veg and use low stress training to bring eight to twelve sites level with each other. A screen of green works well in a tent. The branches are sturdy and rarely need staking indoors, but outdoor plants benefit from a ring of support in late bloom.
Flowering and harvest cues
Watch the calyxes swell in weeks six and seven, then check trichomes from day 54. Harvest at mostly cloudy with 5% to 10% amber for the giggly, social version, or wait for 15% amber for a more relaxed one. Dry slowly for 12 days at 18 to 20 degrees and 60% humidity; the berry and gas both improve after a three week cure.
Slurty 3 yield indoors and outdoors
Expect 400 to 500 g/m² indoors from a trained canopy, which is respectable for a compact plant with buds this dense. Outdoors, a full-season plant yields 450 to 600 g dried. The real return is in the resin: Slurty 3 is a favourite among hash makers because the trichome heads are large and wash well, so if you press rosin, the yield per plant in finished concentrate is better than the flower weight suggests.
Who Slurty 3 is for, and who should pick something else
Grow Slurty 3 if you have a small or medium tent, if you want a dessert strain with a gas edge, or if you enjoy a social first hour before the relaxation arrives. It suits growers who can keep an eye on cal-mag and humidity.
Pick something else if you want maximum weight from a single plant, if you need a sativa for daytime focus, or if you prefer a simple, single-note fruit flavour without the fuel.
How Slurty 3 compares
Slurricane, its parent, is heavier, grapier and more sedating. Gelato 33 brings the cream and the clear-headed start, with less gas. Do-Si-Dos and Purple Punch are the grandparents: one minty and earthy, the other pure grape and berry. Among our indica dominant feminized seeds, Slurty 3 is the one we suggest for people who want a social evening rather than a quiet one.
Frequently asked questions about Slurty 3
What is Slurty 3 a cross of?
Slurty 3 is a cross of Slurricane and Gelato 33. Slurricane is itself Do-Si-Dos x Purple Punch, so Slurty 3 carries Cookies, Purple Punch and Gelato genetics. The 3 marks the phenotype that was selected and kept.
Is Slurty 3 indica or sativa?
Slurty 3 is an indica dominant hybrid, around 60% indica and 40% sativa. Despite that, the first hour is giggly and talkative, and the heavier body relaxation arrives later. The plant grows short and compact like an indica.
How much THC is in Slurty 3?
Slurty 3 usually tests between 19% and 25% THC, with CBD under 1%. Some lab-tested legal batches report higher numbers, but 19% to 25% covers most well grown crops. It is strong enough that a small first session is the wise approach.
What does Slurty 3 taste like?
Slurty 3 tastes sweet and creamy on the inhale, with berries, vanilla cake and a floral note, then finishes with pungent gas and a little pepper. The berry and cream come from the Purple Punch and Gelato side, the fuel from Do-Si-Dos. A cure of three weeks or more brings all of those layers forward.
