Melted Strawberries Feminized at a glance: Melted Strawberries is a balanced hybrid that flowers in 9 to 10 weeks, reaches 22% to 30% THC and returns about 450 to 550 g/m² of spear shaped, heavily frosted buds with a strawberry and cream nose and a faint savoury, fuel edge on the exhale.
Grown best where Canada’s strawberry farms are: the Fraser Valley and the Niagara bench
The places that grow Canada’s best strawberries, the Fraser Valley in BC and the Niagara region in Ontario, also have the long, mild autumns that a 10 week strain needs. Melted Strawberries seeds leave our Vancouver, BC seed bank in an unmarked envelope and usually reach Abbotsford in a day or two and St. Catharines within 3 to 7 business days, with nothing crossing a border. If you live further north or inland, the same seeds make an excellent winter tent crop, and every order is covered by our 80% germination guarantee.
Where Melted Strawberries comes from
Melted Strawberries strain is a cross of GMO and Strawberry Guava, and every reliable source agrees on that pairing. GMO, also called Garlic Cookies, comes from Chemdog and Girl Scout Cookies and is famous for its garlic, mushroom and diesel funk, huge resin output and long flowering time. Strawberry Guava brings the opposite: a loud, sweet red fruit nose and a lively, upbeat effect.
The idea behind the cross was to keep GMO’s frost and potency while turning its savoury smell into something you would happily open at a dinner party. Several dispensary menus call it a sativa, but most growers and lab menus treat it as a balanced hybrid, which matches how it grows. Do not mix it up with similar names such as Strawberry Melt or Melted Strawberry Pancakes, which are different crosses. Our Melted Strawberries feminized seeds carry the GMO and Strawberry Guava genetics.
Melted Strawberries strain effects and experience
The first wave is bright and happy, a clear mood lift that makes music, cooking or a long chat feel easy. Over the next hour the GMO side begins to show, spreading a deep, calm weight through the body while the head stays fairly sociable. Many people find it a good bridge between afternoon and evening.
Melted Strawberries regularly tests near the top of the THC scale, and lab results above 30% have been reported, so small amounts go a long way. Heavier sessions end in drowsiness and a big appetite. Dry mouth and eyes are the most common complaints.
Melted Strawberries flavour, aroma and appearance
Ripe strawberry jam and whipped cream lead the aroma, with a vanilla shortcake softness behind them. Grind a bud and the GMO parent appears as a light garlic, chem and pepper note that keeps the sweetness from feeling flat. On the exhale the strawberry stays on the tongue while a faint savoury fuel lingers. Lab tested batches have shown limonene, myrcene and caryophyllene as the top terpenes, with total terpenes often in the 2% to 3% range.
The colas are long and spear shaped, lime to forest green with magenta and violet flares on cool nights, and wrapped in peach to orange pistils. Resin coverage is exceptional, a gift from GMO, which is why this strain is popular with people who press rosin or make ice water hash.
Growing Melted Strawberries in Canada
Indoors
Expect a stretch of one and a half to two times after the flip, so flip a little earlier than you would for a compact plant. Plants usually finish between 90 and 140 cm. Run 24 to 28 degrees under the lights, keep a strong exhaust fan running and use a carbon filter, because the GMO side gets loud in weeks five to nine. Bring relative humidity down to 40% to 45% from week six; the long colas are dense near the top. A scrog net works very well with this plant’s structure.
Outdoors, by region
At 9 to 10 weeks of flower, Melted Strawberries is an outdoor plant only for the mildest parts of Canada. Coastal BC, including the Fraser Valley, the Gulf Islands and southern Vancouver Island, can bring it in during the first half of October if plants are under a rain cover. In southern Ontario, the Niagara bench and the Lake Erie shoreline offer the best odds. Elsewhere, including the Prairies, Quebec and the Maritimes, treat it as an indoor or greenhouse strain; our outdoor cultivation guide explains how to judge your own season length.
Height and training
Top twice, then train the branches flat under a net so that the long colas form an even canopy rather than one tall spear. Strip the bottom growth around day 21 of flower, and add a second net layer before week five, because the heavy tops will lean once they fill out.
Flowering and harvest cues
Count on 63 to 70 days. The pistils will turn orange before the plant is truly done, so rely on the trichomes: mostly cloudy with 10% to 20% amber gives the best balance of fruit and depth. Dry slowly, around 18 degrees and 60% humidity for 10 to 14 days. A fast dry kills the strawberry and leaves the garlic, so this step matters more than usual.
Melted Strawberries yield indoors and outdoors
Melted Strawberries is grown for flavour and resin more than sheer weight, but trained indoor plants still return about 450 to 550 g/m². Outdoor plants that finish in a dry coastal October give roughly 500 to 700 g each. Hash makers often get unusually strong returns from the trim and smaller buds, which adds real value to a modest harvest. The fullest flavour comes from plants that finish in a dry, cool room.
Who Melted Strawberries is for, and who should pick something else
This is a strain for growers with at least one harvest behind them, a good carbon filter and a taste for fruit with depth. It suits hash makers, coastal BC gardeners, and anyone who liked GMO’s power but wished it smelled sweeter.
If you need a quick plant for a short prairie summer, or you want something very low odour, choose a faster strain. Fans of a purer fruit profile without the savoury note may prefer the parent Strawberry Guava.
It also rewards growers who like to hunt phenotypes. Some seeds lean toward the sweet Strawberry Guava side, others carry more GMO funk, so popping a full pack and keeping the best plant as a mother is well worth the effort.
How Melted Strawberries compares
Next to GMO, Melted Strawberries flowers a little faster, smells far sweeter and feels more sociable in the first hour. Strawberry Shortcake shares the berries and cream theme with a softer, less potent profile. Garlic Breath heads the other way, keeping GMO’s savoury funk front and centre. Is Melted Strawberries indica or sativa?
Melted Strawberries is a hybrid, close to 50/50, even though some menus label it a sativa. The effect opens with an upbeat mood lift and settles into heavy body calm. High doses tend to end in drowsiness.
How much THC is in Melted Strawberries?
Melted Strawberries usually tests between 22% and 30% THC, and some lab results have gone slightly higher. CBD stays under 1%. It is one of the stronger fruit hybrids, so start low.

Why a long, resin heavy grow should start with seeds you can count on
Ten weeks of flower plus veg is a big investment of power and patience, so the seed has to be reliable. Start each seed with the cup of water and paper towel method described in our germination guide, and if fewer than 80% sprout, our germination guarantee applies. We have been doing this since 2009.
Melted Strawberries ships from Vancouver, BC in unbranded packaging and arrives across Canada in 3 to 7 business days. Orders over $200 ship free, orders over $420 include 10 free seeds, and the $30 tracked and insured option comes with one free reshipment if the parcel goes missing.
Buy a 10 or 25 seed pack and the second one is free through our buy one get one free offer, which is handy for keeping a mother or running a second room. Pay by Interac e-Transfer, credit card, Bitcoin or cash, and reach our team by phone, email, WhatsApp or live chat any day of the week.
