Don Mega Strain Feminized Marijuana Seeds

Price range: $65.00 through $240.00

Don Mega strain is a heavyweight hybrid that pairs the garlic funk of GMO with the overripe banana sweetness of Black Banana, and the result is as big as the name promises. It tests 24% to 30% THC, takes 9 to 10 weeks to flower and can double or even triple in height after the flip, so it suits growers with headroom and some experience. The effect is a slow, tingling build into deep calm. Our feminized seeds are already in Canada and ship from Vancouver, BC in plain packaging, arriving in 3 to 7 business days.

Don Mega Feminized at a glance: Don Mega is a balanced cross of GMO and Black Banana that flowers in 9 to 10 weeks, tests 24% to 30% THC and yields 450 to 600 g/m² of long, resin-soaked colas with a garlic and onion nose softened by ripe banana and dark fruit.

A big plant needs a long runway, so the seeds should be here before the seedling mat is

Don Mega is not a strain you start in June and hope for the best. Between a stretch that can triple the plant and ten weeks of bloom, a Canadian outdoor run needs an April germination and an indoor run needs planning around the tent height. Ordering from inside the country takes the guesswork out of the first step: the seeds are stocked in Vancouver, BC, travel in a plain envelope by domestic mail and land in Calgary, Halifax or Thunder Bay in 3 to 7 business days. Every pack is backed by our 80% germination guarantee, and 10 and 25 seed packs are buy one get one free.

Where Don Mega comes from

Don Mega strain was bred in the Pacific Northwest by crossing GMO, the Chemdawg and Girl Scout Cookies hybrid also known as Garlic Cookies, with Black Banana, a dark, sweet banana line. GMO supplies the savoury garlic and mushroom funk, the huge resin output and the long flowering time. Black Banana tames the nose with ripe fruit and contributes darker, chunkier buds. The breeding goal was obvious from the first tests: keep GMO’s potency and frost, add a sweeter finish and push the yield.

The name suits the plant’s attitude. Don Mega found a following among extract makers in the region because the resin heads are large and wash well, and it has since been used as a parent for several newer crosses. You will see it written as The Don Mega on some menus; it is the same strain. A small number of listings describe an F2 or call the GMO parent GMO Cookies, but both refer to the same garlic line.

Don Mega strain effects and experience

Don Mega takes its time. The first fifteen minutes bring a tingling, almost fizzy feeling across the scalp and face along with a quiet, content mood. That euphoria builds steadily rather than spiking, and by the hour mark a deep body calm has settled in. People describe it as heavy without being instantly sedating: you can stay on the sofa and enjoy music for a long time before sleep wins. Sessions commonly last three hours or more.

At 24% to 30% THC, Don Mega is among the strongest hybrids in our catalogue, and because the build is gradual it is easy to take too much too soon. Dry mouth, heavy eyelids and occasional dizziness are the usual complaints. Begin with a very small amount and give it a full thirty minutes.

Don Mega flavour, aroma and appearance

This is a polarising nose. A cured bud smells of garlic, onion and damp earth with a sweet, overripe banana note pushing through, a combination that works far better in the jar than it sounds on paper. Grinding adds diesel and a hint of black pepper. The smoke is thick and savoury, opening with garlic and funk and finishing on banana bread and dark berries. Caryophyllene and myrcene usually lead the terpene profile, with limonene adding brightness.

The colas are long and spear shaped, with lime and forest green calyxes, occasional dark purple patches from the Black Banana side and pale orange pistils. Trichome coverage is dense enough that the buds look wet under a light, which is exactly what hash makers look for.

Growing Don Mega in Canada

Indoors

The stretch is the main challenge. Don Mega can double or triple in height in the first three weeks of bloom, so flip earlier than usual, at 25 to 30 cm, and plan for a finished height of 100 to 170 cm. A tent with less than two metres of usable height calls for aggressive training. Keep the room at 24 to 28 degrees with lights on and relative humidity at 55% early in bloom, falling to 40% from week six. It is a heavy feeder through weeks two to six of flower and a strong drinker, so larger containers of 15 to 25 litres help. Strong exhaust and a good carbon filter are essential; the garlic smell travels.

Outdoors, by region

A 9 to 10 week bloom and a tall frame make Don Mega an outdoor plant for coastal British Columbia and southern Ontario only. On the Sunshine Coast, Vancouver Island and the Fraser Valley, germinate in April, plant out in late May and expect a harvest in the first half of October; a rain cover over the top of the plant for the final two weeks protects the long colas from autumn showers. Niagara, Essex County and the Lake Erie shore can finish it in a warm year by around Thanksgiving. Gardens on the Prairies, in northern Ontario, Quebec beyond the Montreal plain or Atlantic Canada should grow it in a greenhouse or indoors, where an early October frost is not a threat.

Height and training

Top twice during veg and use a screen of green to spread the branches flat before the flip. Supercropping the tallest shoots in the first week of the stretch keeps the canopy even without slowing the plant. Install trellis netting early, because the heavy colas will need support by week six. Remove the lowest third of growth at day 21 so the plant’s energy goes to the top sites.

Flowering and harvest cues

Do not cut early. The GMO side keeps building resin into week ten, and plants harvested at day 56 taste green and smoke harshly. From day 63, check trichomes with a loupe: mostly cloudy with 10% to 20% amber is the sweet spot for flavour and the full body effect. Dry slowly for two weeks at 60% humidity and cure at least three weeks; the banana note only comes forward after the garlic settles.

Don Mega yield indoors and outdoors

Yield is one of the reasons growers put up with the stretch. A trained indoor canopy produces 450 to 600 g/m², and outdoor plants on the coast or in southern Ontario can return 600 to 900 g each when they are planted in large beds or 100 litre containers. Resin return is outstanding: Don Mega washes well for ice water hash and presses heavy rosin, so even the trim pays for itself.

Who Don Mega is for, and who should pick something else

Choose Don Mega feminized seeds if you love savoury, funky strains, want maximum potency, or make your own extracts and need a resin heavy plant. It suits growers who have finished at least two grows and can manage a tall plant, a long bloom and a strong smell.

Skip it if this is your first grow, if your tent is short, if you need discretion in a shared building or if you prefer sweet, fruity flavours. A more compact dessert hybrid will be easier on a beginner and on the neighbours.

How Don Mega compares

GMO is the parent: stronger garlic, a longer bloom and less fruit. Garlic Breath shares the savoury nose on a more compact, easier plant. Black Amber is another GMO descendant, darker and more indica in feel. You will find more of these strong, resin heavy crosses in our hybrid feminized seeds, and our guide to humidity control explains how to keep long, dense colas free of rot in the final weeks.

Frequently asked questions about Don Mega

What is Don Mega a cross of?

Don Mega is a cross of GMO and Black Banana. GMO, also called Garlic Cookies, brings the garlic funk, the resin and the potency, while Black Banana adds sweet banana and dark fruit notes and chunkier buds. It is sometimes listed as The Don Mega, which is the same strain.

Is Don Mega indica or sativa?

Don Mega is a balanced hybrid, close to 50/50. The effect starts with a tingling, euphoric head feel and gradually deepens into a heavy body calm, so most people treat it as an evening strain despite its even split.

How strong is Don Mega strain?

Don Mega typically tests between 24% and 30% THC with very little CBD, which places it among the strongest hybrids available. The high builds slowly, so wait at least thirty minutes after a small first dose before deciding whether you need more.

How long does Don Mega take to flower?

Don Mega needs about 9 to 10 weeks of flowering, or 63 to 70 days, indoors. Outdoors in Canada it finishes in early to mid October, which is why it suits the BC coast and southern Ontario best. Expect a large stretch of two to three times in early bloom.

Why Don Mega is the GMO cross we suggest to growers who wash their own hash

Big resin heads and a generous stretch make Don Mega a natural choice for anyone running ice water or a rosin press, and it is a step sweeter than straight GMO when you smoke the flower.
