In coastal BC, the Okanagan and southern Ontario, transplant at the end of May and plan to harvest in the last days of September or the first week of October. Quebec, New Brunswick and Nova Scotia can follow the same plan with the warmest, sunniest bed you have and a cover ready for a wet week. On the Prairies, germinate indoors in early to mid April, harden the plant off on warm afternoons in May and set it out in late May or early June; it usually finishes in late September before the first hard frost.

Height and training

Spritzer answers well to topping, low stress training and a screen of green. Top at the fourth or fifth node, spread the branches for two weeks, then fill a net and tuck the tops through it during the stretch. A flat canopy of ten to fourteen tops turns a plant that likes to form one central spear into an even, heavy harvest.

Flowering and harvest cues

Watch the calyxes swell over days 45 to 55 and start looking at trichomes from day 55. Mostly cloudy heads with a few amber give the brightest version of the high; letting it run to 15% amber brings the heavier phenotypes out further. Dry slowly for 12 to 14 days at 60% humidity, because a fast dry flattens the grape into plain sweetness.

Resin coverage is heavy enough that trim is worth keeping for dry sift or rosin.
