Price range: $65.00 through $240.00

Cap Junky is the strongest strain in our catalogue by the numbers: Alien Cookies crossed with Kush Mints #11, routinely testing 28% to 33% THC with a sour, gassy, menthol-edged aroma that fills a room. It is a balanced hybrid with an indica lean in effect, flowers in 9 to 10 weeks, and stays between 100 and 150 cm indoors, which makes it manageable to grow and far less manageable to smoke. Feminized seeds, viability tested in our Vancouver seed bank and shipped inside Canada in 3 to 7 business days.

Cap Junky Feminized at a glance: a balanced hybrid that flowers in 9 to 10 weeks, tests 28% to 33% THC, yields 450 to 600 g/m², and pairs a sour gas and mint aroma with a fast, forceful effect that is not built for beginners.

The strongest seeds we ship, and they do not stop at the border

Cap Junky is the kind of strain that gets a seed parcel opened at customs, which is one more reason to order it from inside the country. Ours leave our Vancouver, BC seed bank in plain, unbranded packaging and reach every province in 3 to 7 business days, tracked and insured for $30 if you want it. Each batch is viability tested here first and carries our 80% germination guarantee, and the 10 and 25 seed packs are buy one get one free with any other strain.

Where Cap Junky comes from

Cap Junky is a collaboration cross of two heavy hitters: Alien Cookies, itself a Forum Cookies and Alien Dawg cross known for extreme resin and a sour, chem-cookie aroma, and Kush Mints #11, an Animal Mints and Bubba Kush selection with a menthol edge and serious weight. It arrived in 2022 and immediately became a benchmark for lab-tested potency, with results in the low 30s that most strains cannot approach.

It is balanced in its genetics and leans indica in the second half of the effect, but the first half is pure racing sativa energy. Structurally it is a well behaved plant: medium height, sturdy branching, and dense, resin-drenched colas that are the main reason it needs a careful finish.

Effects and experience

Cap Junky hits fast and hard. The first fifteen minutes are a rush: bright, buzzing, sometimes a little racy, with a strong pressure behind the eyes. From there it turns heavy and physical, and it stays that way for three hours. At 28% to 33% THC it will overwhelm anyone who treats it like a normal strain, and even experienced users describe the first session as more than expected.

This is not a beginner’s strain, and it is not a daytime one. It rewards small doses, a clear schedule and a comfortable chair.

Flavour, aroma and appearance

The aroma is sour and gassy, with a sharp mint and pine note from the Kush Mints side and a funky, almost chemical cookie base from Alien Cookies. Ground up, it is loud enough to smell through a jar. The taste follows: sour fuel and mint on the inhale, earthy pine and a creamy cookie finish on the exhale, with a menthol coolness that lingers.

The buds are dense, lime green to dark olive, occasionally purple in a cool finish, and so heavily frosted that a dried bud looks grey. Trichome production is the point of the strain, which is why concentrate makers rate it so highly.

Growing Cap Junky in Canada

Indoors

Cap Junky grows more easily than it smokes. Veg four weeks from seed, flip at 50 to 60 cm, and expect a 1.5 to 1.8 times stretch to 100 to 150 cm. It feeds moderately and shows nutrient burn early, so start at 70% strength and build. Flowering runs 63 to 70 days. The colas are dense and resinous, and the last three weeks are the risk period: hold humidity under 45%, keep air moving through the canopy, and do not let night temperatures swing more than five degrees or the buds will sweat.

Outdoors, by region

With a 9 to 10 week flower and dense buds, Cap Junky outdoors is a coastal BC proposition. On Vancouver Island and the Lower Mainland, plant out in late May and harvest in the first two weeks of October with a rain cover ready. Southern Ontario growers can succeed in a dry, warm fall or with a greenhouse; the Niagara area is about the limit. In Quebec, on the Prairies and in the Atlantic provinces, grow it indoors, where it is a compact and productive plant. For outdoor gardens in those regions our best outdoor seeds for Canada guide lists strains that finish in September.

Height and training

Top once and train the branches out flat; Cap Junky forms a dozen even colas with little coaxing. Because the buds get heavy, a second net at week three of flower stops the colas leaning into each other, which matters for airflow. Defoliate lightly around the bud sites at week three and again at week six. It is a sturdy plant, and a full guide to indoor conditions is in our growing indoors in Canada article.

Flowering and harvest cues

Do not chase the lab number by harvesting late; potency peaks when trichomes are fully cloudy with the first amber, typically day 63 to 68. Past that the effect gets heavier, not stronger. Dry for two weeks at 60% and 18 degrees, then cure: the mint and sour gas sharpen noticeably after three weeks in the jar. Hang whole branches rather than wet trimming; the resin makes wet trimming a sticky, wasteful job.

Yield

Indoors, a trained plant gives 450 to 600 g/m² of dense, heavy buds, and the trichome coverage means a much higher return in hash or rosin than the dry weight suggests. Outdoors in coastal BC a full-season plant produces 500 to 750 g dried. Cap Junky is not grown for bulk, but it is far from a token yielder; the combination of moderate height, real weight and record potency is rare.

Who Cap Junky is for, and who should pick something else

Grow Cap Junky if you have been growing for a few seasons and want the strongest thing you can raise at home, if you make concentrates, or if you have found that 25% strains no longer do much.

Pick something else if this is a first grow or you are new to cannabis, where Super Boof gives a modern flavour with a gentler landing; if you need a daytime strain; or if you want an outdoor plant outside the BC coast.

How Cap Junky compares

Permanent Marker is its closest rival for potency, a few points lower and far sweeter in flavour. Gorilla Glue #4 shares the resin and the fuel but is more forgiving and a week faster. Among our hybrid feminized seeds, Cap Junky is the ceiling, and it tops our high THC seeds guide.

Frequently asked questions

Is Cap Junky indica or sativa?

Cap Junky is a balanced hybrid, roughly 55% indica and 45% sativa, bred from Alien Cookies and Kush Mints #11. The effect runs in two halves: a fast, racy sativa rush for the first quarter hour, then a heavy indica body for the next two to three hours. The plant is medium height and easy to train.

How strong is Cap Junky?

Cap Junky tests between 28% and 33% THC in a properly grown crop, with CBD under 0.5%, which makes it the strongest strain we stock. It is meant for experienced users. A small amount is a full session, and the effect lasts around three hours.

What does Cap Junky taste like?

Sour fuel and a sharp mint on the inhale, then earthy pine and a creamy cookie finish with a cooling menthol edge. The sourness and the funk come from Alien Cookies, the mint from Kush Mints. A three week cure sharpens both.

Is Cap Junky hard to grow?

No, the plant is easier than the effect. It stays between 100 and 150 cm indoors, trains well and finishes in 9 to 10 weeks. The one demand is a dry, well ventilated finish, because the colas are dense and resinous. Outdoors it suits coastal BC; elsewhere in Canada grow it indoors or in a greenhouse.
