Toad Venom Strain Feminized Marijuana Seeds

Price range: $65.00 through $240.00

Toad Venom strain is a mint, cookie dough and fuel hybrid that takes its menacing name from its punch, not from any amphibian. The best known version crosses Animal Face with Sin Mintz, leans slightly indica, tests 20% to 28% THC and finishes in roughly 8 to 9.5 weeks on a compact, frosty plant. It opens with a clear head and settles into a calm, heavy body. Our feminized seeds are already in Canada and ship from Vancouver, BC in plain packaging, arriving in 3 to 7 business days.

No amphibians and no import paperwork: a domestic parcel from Vancouver

A strain called Toad Venom sounds like something a border officer would want to open. Ours never meets one. The seeds are stocked in our Vancouver, BC seed bank, go out in a plain envelope with a neutral return address, and travel by domestic post to Winnipeg, Moncton or Kelowna in 3 to 7 business days. Every pack is covered by our 80% germination guarantee when you sprout with the cup of water and paper towel method, and the 10 and 25 seed packs are buy one get one free.

Where Toad Venom comes from

Toad Venom strain first showed up on California menus in the early 2020s as a cross of Animal Face and Sin Mintz. Animal Face, itself Face Off OG crossed with Animal Mints, supplies the fuel, the dense structure and the thick resin. Sin Mintz brings a cool mint cookie sweetness with a candy thread that many growers trace to Zkittlez in its background. A standout keeper from that cross, passed around under the nickname “Becky,” is the cut that made the name famous, and most seed versions aim to recreate it.

Two other things are worth knowing before you buy. First, a separate cross of two OG and gas lines has also been sold as Toad Venom, with a more diesel and peach character; our pack follows the Animal Face and Sin Mintz recipe described here. Second, the name is pure marketing. It has nothing to do with the Sonoran Desert toad or any toad secretion; it is ordinary cannabis that earned a scary title by hitting harder than people expected.

Toad Venom strain effects and experience

The first few minutes are bright. Smokers describe a clear head, a lighter mood and a pleasant focus that makes music or a film more absorbing. Around the half-hour mark the Animal Face side starts to show, and a warm weight settles into the shoulders and legs. The peak lasts somewhere between 45 and 90 minutes, and the whole session runs two to three hours. Small amounts stay sociable; large ones end on the sofa with the remote just out of reach.

With THC that can reach the high twenties, this is not a strain to rush. Dry mouth and dry eyes are the usual complaints, and sensitive people sometimes report a racing heart when they take too much too quickly. One modest session and a twenty minute wait is the sensible introduction.

Toad Venom flavour, aroma and appearance

Crack a cured bud and the first hit is sweet mint and cookie dough, closer to a mint chocolate biscuit than toothpaste. Grind it and the fuel arrives: a sharp, chemical gas that fills a room and sits on top of earthy pepper and a little citrus peel. The smoke is creamy and thick, opening with mint and sugar and finishing on gas and baked bread. Vaporized at a low temperature, the herbal and mint notes come through more clearly. Caryophyllene, limonene and myrcene usually lead the terpene reports, with linalool and humulene showing in some plants.

The buds are medium sized, chunky and heavy for their size, with olive and lime calyxes, a few purple flecks after cold nights and so much resin that the leaves around them look dusted with frost. Pistils are short and tangerine coloured.

Growing Toad Venom in Canada

Indoors

Toad Venom grows like its Animal Face parent: short internodes, a strong central stem and side branches that want to stack tight. Veg for four to five weeks and flip at 35 to 45 cm; the stretch is modest, about 1.5 times, so a finished height of 80 to 130 cm fits most tents. Run 24 to 27 degrees with the lights on and keep relative humidity near 50% through mid flower, then lower it to 40% to 45% from week six, because the dense flowers hold moisture. It is a medium to heavy feeder and shows nitrogen hunger early in bloom; a slightly stronger feed in weeks two and three keeps the fan leaves green to the end.

Outdoors, by region

With a bloom of roughly 8 to 9.5 weeks, Toad Venom finishes outdoors across most of southern Canada. On the BC coast and in the Fraser Valley, plants set out in late May come down in the last week of September. Southern Ontario, the Eastern Townships and Nova Scotia’s Annapolis Valley usually harvest in the first days of October. Prairie growers in Lethbridge, Regina or Winnipeg should start seeds indoors in mid April, plant out after the last frost and pick a sunny, sheltered spot; a finish in the first week of October is realistic in an average year. Space plants well apart wherever late summers are humid, since tight buds and still air are the combination that invites mould.

Height and training

Because the plant stays compact, training is about opening the canopy rather than controlling height. Top once at the fifth node, then use soft ties to pull the branches outward so light reaches the middle. Clear out the small growth on the lowest third of the plant before the flip; those sites rarely amount to more than larf and they block airflow under the canopy.

Flowering and harvest cues

Resin builds very early, so the plant looks finished long before it is. Start checking trichomes around day 56. Mostly cloudy heads with a few amber give the clearest, most flavourful result; waiting until 15% to 20% amber deepens the body effect. Dry slowly at about 18 degrees and 60% humidity for 10 to 14 days. The mint fades if the room runs warm, so keep the dry space cool.

Toad Venom yield indoors and outdoors

A trained indoor canopy under a decent LED gives 400 to 550 g/m² of dense, easy-to-trim flower. Outdoors, plants in 50 to 80 litre pots or open beds return 450 to 700 g each, with the higher numbers coming from long, warm seasons on the coast and in southern Ontario. Resin return is the hidden bonus: the heavy trichome coat makes Toad Venom a rewarding strain for anyone who presses rosin or makes dry sift, so keep the trim.

Who Toad Venom is for, and who should pick something else

Choose Toad Venom feminized seeds if you like mint and gas in the same jar, if you want an evening strain that starts clear instead of knocking you flat, or if you press rosin and want a resin-heavy plant that still fits a small tent. It suits growers with one or two harvests behind them who can manage humidity in late flower.

Look elsewhere if you are new to high THC strains, if you want a bright daytime smoke, or if your grow space runs humid with little airflow. A fruit-forward, more forgiving hybrid will be kinder to a first run.

How Toad Venom compares

Animal Face is the parent and the heavier of the two, with more fuel and less mint. Animal Mints sits one generation further back and shows where the cool cookie note began. Kush Mints shares the mint and gas pairing on a slightly calmer, more balanced plant. You can see more mid-strength crosses like this in our hybrid feminized seeds, and our high THC seeds guide lines Toad Venom up against the other strong strains we ship inside Canada.

Frequently asked questions about Toad Venom

Is Toad Venom strain related to actual toad venom?

No, Toad Venom is ordinary cannabis and contains no toad secretion or 5-MeO-DMT. The name is a marketing nod to its strength. It is a cross of Animal Face and Sin Mintz, and its effects come from THC and terpenes like any other hybrid.

Is Toad Venom indica or sativa?

Toad Venom is a hybrid that leans slightly indica, roughly 60/40. It opens with a clear, upbeat head and then settles into a relaxed body feeling, so most people save it for late afternoon or evening rather than the start of a busy day.

What does Toad Venom taste like?

Toad Venom tastes like sweet mint and cookie dough on the inhale and creamy fuel on the exhale. Ground buds add earthy pepper and a hint of citrus. The mint comes from Sin Mintz and the gas from the Animal Face side of the family.

How strong is Toad Venom strain?

Toad Venom usually tests between 20% and 28% THC, with CBD under 1%, which makes it a strong strain. Start with a small amount and wait twenty minutes, because the body effect builds after the first clear-headed phase and heavy doses become sedating.

Why Toad Venom suits Animal Face fans who want more mint and a calmer start

It ships from our Vancouver, BC seed bank in plain, unbranded packaging and reaches every province and territory in 3 to 7 business days. Orders over $200 ship free, and the $30 tracked and insured option adds a tracking number plus one free reshipment if a parcel goes astray.
